I really love this place. Partially because I live one block from it but I have yet to be disappointed.

They have amazing specials throughout the week and their happy hour is the best on the island in my opinion. Like most places down in WW, they don't take cards so have cash or be ready to tap the ATM.

I have yet to be here during busy season but can see that this place will get packed. As for the food, we all loved it. I've read other reviews about their burgers and cheesesteaks being dry but this was the case for neither. Again, it may be because I have been their during off season and they were less busy but I had no complaints. My father ordered the Owens Burger and enjoyed the size and taste of the patty. I have to say, he complains about almost everything everywhere we go and he actually liked it. My mother and I both had the Mexican Chicken Cheesesteak which was a chicken cheesesteak with cheese, salsa, lettuce, and sour cream. It was absolutely awesome. I don't know if I will venture from this next again.

The bar and even dining area has a million tvs. It is impossible to miss a baseball game while here. You will be able to see it where ever you look. Also, every time I have been there, it has been so immaculate clean that you could eat off the floor if you want. Being down the shore and at a popular pub makes you really appreciate that.

The prices are unbeatable whether you're there for a special or not. I was very happy.

Came here for my mom's birthday this past August on a rainy Saturday night. The drinks were super cheap, and the dj was playing fun music, mostly top forty but whatever.

Bars like this are pretty indicative of the jersey shore. Crowds are mixed from 21 to about 60, and most people are trying to have a good time.

During our time here the power went out and the street began to flood. The bartenders continued serving with no electricity in the place, making for an interesting experience!

Local joint. Cheap beer. Good drink specials. Crap food. Dont bother. Always packed with local riff raff. Get drunk for $10. Walk to beach.

Very disappointed. I went there on a recommendation from a friend and to see the Sindi Raymond Band. The bartender was ignoring us and we couldn't get a drink. Decided to try a table. Same results. The waitress ignored us.  I will admit it was a little crowded due to the band, but doesn't the owner / manager take that into consideration when organizing his staff ?   So, we never got served, but I got to see my band and it cost me nothing. Ashame too, I had money to burn. Your loss Owen's !!!  Don't think I will go there again. Guess, I will stick with The Wharf.  Can't go wrong there - plenty of booze, food and staff.

Owen's is still one of the best deals going at the Jersey Shore. Where else can you get $.99 domestic pints of beer and $1.00 bottles for during an extra-long Happy Hour? And their food isn't half bad either if you stick to the tried-and-true menu items.

During Happy Hour, they have amazing food specials but we always go on Wednesday for their chicken wings. For a $1.50 you get eight plump and perfectly cooked wings. We always order them with the cheese fries for another buck and it makes a full meal. I do have to agree with some of the other reviewers here about their hamburgers, which can be dried out and overcooked. I have also had hit-or-miss experiences with their cheesesteaks which they also tend to overcook.

Salads here are good when they are the special for the night. A non-veggie Caesar comes with generous portions of chicken or steak and nice, garlicky dressing. Plus the portions are huge. Their specials are also very reasonable and they seem to know what they're doing in the kitchen when it comes to fish (I had a really good grilled shrimp salad a few weeks ago).

In the summers, Owen's is mobbed and the line can stretch around the corner. But for me, spending the winter at the Jersey shore, there is no more reliable local hang out where I can have a few beers an$d a good meal for under  $10.

Another positive: super-friendly bartenders who remember your name and what you drink. Always good.

Oh Owens. I have such a love hate relationship with you but I believe unfortunately it has come to an end. I have spent hours of beach time sitting at your bar, waiting in line for mediocre food. The only good thing about you anymore is the price and "name that tune" on Saturday which actually, I haven't been to in a while because...well... there is no place to sit! With all the great places in Wildwood, I must say I am just not stopping by to see you anymore. Not after last night.

My fiance and I spent the day geocaching down down the shore. We got to Wildwood and were starving but broke. I said "hey I think its $2.50 cheeseburgers at Owens, let's go get a burger and a beer!"  We went in and were surprised it was packed for 4pm on a gloomy Thursday down the shore. Our waitress handed us menus even though we knew what we wanted. We ordered our beers and began to order our food and she left. She came back again we ordered our food and we waited...and waited...and waited. As I was waiting I realized she never asked how I wanted my burger cooked and I like it medium rare. Roh-roh. I was raving how much I love the specials here, but I was beginning to worry. I began to chug my beer. The burgers arrived with a nice portion of cheese fries which were the only edible thing on our table. There was a huge kaiser roll on my plate with a tiny charred little burger hidden underneath. I ordered the bacon bleu which I knew was only bleu cheese dressing but 2 drops??? There were also 5 bacon crumbs on top of the burnt hockey puck they call a burger. I have had their burger special before and it was good and fresh. This was worse than a cafeteria meal. Thank god we had cheesefries!!!!! My fiance was not happy with his Owen burger. The 5 "fried" onions had been grilled for 2 minutes and thrown ontop with a few mushroom stems. Frozen burgers that were charred and dry. I was actually wishing I was consuming the dreaded McMeat down the street. It was so bad I ordered a second beer. I don't remember the last time rumgirl drank BEER but I needed something to wash down that awful excuse for a meal. I did decide to ask for more blue cheese and did show the waitress I had 2 drops of cheap dressing on my sandwich. She walked away with a discusted look on her face and returned with a cup of bleu cheese which we ended up using for the fries. I am happy to report we did not get charged for the dressing.

As a frequent Wildwood visitor, I have been a big fan of Owen's for years. I have a few friends and family members that will be sure to blast me for writing this but I must say, it is just not worth the wait and I would rather pay double for something I could enjoy. I was raving about this place for ages to my fiance and ended up being embarrassed that I brought him here. With so many other choices in the Wildwood area, it is not worth the wait. The new mangement seems to be skimping on things: food quality and lack of waitstaff. One reviewer mentioned that it was more open? It looks the same to me, actually if they didn't spend so much dough on all the plasma tvs maybe they could afford some decent meat. Sorry Owens. It is time to say goodbye. I'd rather waste $2.50 on trying to win a knock-off coach bag from a crane machine on the boardwalk. Adios!

I went to this place while down the beach with my boyfriends family. His mom insisted that we go to Owen's for dinner, even though it was a 45 minute wait for our large party. With such a long wait, I assumed that the food would be good. Wrong.

Thursdays was $2.50 cheeseburger night. I got a Blackened Cheeseburger that was supposed to come with lettuce and tomato and a Caesar salad. Well, the waitress said that I never ordered my salad, and had to go back and get that. Then my burger arrived... just a bun, burger and cheese. It looked so pitiful. I asked the waitress where my lettuce and tomato was and she disappeared to go get me some. After all that trouble, you'd think that at least the burger would be good. Nope. It was the most mediocre burger I have ever had in my life.

    I'll pass on Owen's.
