Papa Grande is a great place for a nice quick casual meal after the beach. It was very child friendly and is a bring your own place which is wonderful. Great dining experience, we had the jalapeno poppers to start. They were so tasty and you could definitely tell they were homemade and not just the frozen kind that they fry up. We also had chips with salsa and guacamole. Both were great ways to start our meal!
For lunch we had the buffalo pulled chicken on a roll and the steak which my husband chose to have in a cone. Both were delicious and came with fries. Just enough food, nothing wrong with the portion size and the bun on the buffalo pulled chicken was so good.
For dessert we had churros, which are homemade and so tasty.
Over all it was a delicious meal and we will surely be going back sometime soon for more!!

I thought the place was great.  I don't know where the other people ate that said it took two hours.  I had chimichangas and mjy friend had salad.  We both had churros for dessert , really good and home made.  I had no complaint about the service, and the place was crowded.  And by the way I had a glass of water and was not charged.  Can't wait to go back.  I am tired of eating Italian food.

The two times we visited Papa Grande it was very busy.  I have a lot allergies and they were able t help with them. Plus our friend that came with us is vegetarian.   Nice selection on the menu  portions were good, home made chips which my husband loves, home made gaucamole!  Also It's a byob!  Hopefully we will be back this weekend!  Yum!  :)   This post didn't go through last week, but we went this past Friday night and service and food was excellent!  My husband had the cheese balls and really enjoyed them.  I had the crap meat mango salad, it was very good!  I couldn't finish the salad or avaocado.  My husband the cheese quesadillas.
He also didn't finish his meal.  He bought home half of it.  So try it our for yourself.  We had three meals with a app for 55.00 includes tip!

This was one of the best places I have eaten at down the shore.  The Chimichanga was out of this world... it had bacon in it and let's face it bacon is amazing and the flavors just all melted together in your mouth AMAZING... the cheese dip and salsas were phenominal!!!  The chips were so different than regular plain chips you usually get from a Mexican joint... really really good again... when you visit you cannot leave without ordering dessert because they make wonderful churros that have caramel in the middle of them when you bite down... holy crap was that good!... seriously you have to go here... the patio outside is soooo nice and enjoyable to sit at... it's byob so you can go any night of the week and enjoy yourself!  You're missing out if you haven't tried this place!

Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten.  The steak was okay, but he rice was a ball of starch and the beans had no flavor like they came right out of the can.  I was still hungry when I left because the rice and beans were not edible.  The service was poor, they were young and not trained (nice though).  We were charged $2.00 for tap water!
There is a need for a good Mexican Restaurant in the area, but this is not it.  I will never be back.

I had really high hopes & really wanted to love this place. I plan to try it out in another month to see if they have improved. Our main complaints- it took almost 2 hours to get our food. We were there with 3 children so that makes for a really terrible experience. One member of our table was not served with the rest of us- apparently her meal was never prepared. When she went in to ask about it she asked for whatever taco was the quickest- 10 minutes later she was given a different type of taco than she ordered. The food was ok- small portions when it came to a $9 salad & we all thought that our tacos came with beans but we only had rice. The salsa was really good. The service was terrible. And the children's quesadilla is a rip off- the quesadilla is half the size of Surf Taco. We'll give this place one more try & then write it off. They really need to get their act together.

this place doesn't even deserve a star, I was appalled with the portion size and pricing. Papa grande claims to be Mexican cousine but is a fake American franchise feeling restruants. I was also extremely disappointed with the quality of the food  and the lack of knowledge towards preparing certain meals! I could have sautayed peppers better at home. I ordered cheeseballs and paid 6 dollars for 10 mini cheeseballs..they weren't even good. The burrito was far from wrapped with love. The menu was disorderly and no elaborate I had to ask several times what I was ordering and what it included my "steak burrito" didnt even come with a side. I will never return,  Really missing my favorite Beach Burrito right now.. this place restruant rescue
