I only gave one star cause I can't give 0 . I have Been to papa g's multiple time and don't know why I keep coming back . Well I'm done now .. Â They constantly double your credit card purcheses the service is sub par and when you try 4 days later to get the charges off they pretend they voided it !

From the outside it looks potentially sleek and sophisticated and then when you walk in it's a massive room for professional sports watchers. Â What do you do here? Â Drink beer and watch sports. Â Hello, it's Texas.
Actually, it's nice that they divide up the huge room where the back part has pool tables and games, which was actually the more "cozy" fun part of the place. Â It's all relative.
Poor service, overly loud, bad seating and extremely smoky. Would have left if I wasn;t meeting friends. We started double-ordering drinks since we pretty much had to walk to bar and then wait for bartender to acknowdlege us. If you aren't a regular, hard to get served and even pay out. I didn;t order any food.
The projector TV wasn't great quality but size was decent trade-off. Sound system didn;t quite go with TV but maybe needed to hear above crowd. Many people seemed to stay only short periods of time. Not sure if that was the ambience or maybe hooking up. Had a good time with friends but probably wouldn't ask anyone to meet me there.
Just moved to Texas and we haven't gotten our truck delivered yet. Husband wanted to watch the NASCAR race so we headed to the nearest sports bar to our house, Papa G's. Good food, big beers, huge projector style tv's. They also had a really awesome live band playing and no cover charge. The only drawback is the smoke. If you don't smoke or hate smoking while you're trying to eat don't go here. It seemed like to me that the people there knew they allowed smoking and came for that reason all with cigs in hand at the door. The smoke level was tolerable earlier in the evening until it it started to get packed around 10pm. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about.
Review Source:Sure, I smell like a bucket of smoke after I leave the place, but the 1/2-lb mushroom and swiss burger is really, really good. Soft, grilled bun, thick and juicy medium-rare burger patty and french fries. I prefer my fries hard and crisp and these are not like that but they are supposedly hand-cut and have a nice meaty texture to them.
Review Source:Food, let's just say this, DON'T GO HUNGRY. That being said...for the guys the waitresses are easy on the eyes but why does it seem like they're all PMS'g EVERY time I've gone? I have even tried to sit in diff areas to find the "right" one. I go for UFC/Football so the amount of screens is a plus. You leave smelling like a cig butt and the drinks are alright. If you have no issues with the smoke or food or service for that matter...by all means have at it. However, don't say you weren't warned.

On the one hand, it was OK, maybe not quite A-OK, but certainly a B-OK. On the other hand, I've definitely had a better burger, but I can see how Papa G's will hit the spot for many (especially the smokers).
This is actually my second visit here. Today I was flying solo, and it was lunch time, not a busy weekend, so I decide to give it a try.
I had the "peppercorn gargonzola [sic] burger", which did not quite live up to its description. It was supposed to be "Stuffed with gargonzola cheese then rolled in cracked peppercorns for a unique flavor. Topped with crumbles of gargonzola." The only accurate part was the crumbles. I did not see, or taste, any evidence of peppercorns, and the burger certainly had no Gorgonzola inside. The burger was a bit over-cooked and a tad dry. It was served with "hand-cut" fries, seasoned with (or something like) Old Bay. Oddly the fries were a bit burnt, yet limp, not crispy, making me think they were re-heated, not cooked to order. They had potential and could have been a lot better.
But Papa G's is not just about food, even though their tag line is, "If Mamma can't cook come to Papa!" Â As far as a sports bar, it looks good. With TVs all over the place, video games, foosball, and pool tables (which are free on Tuesday).
So if you are looking for a good sports bar scene, I think Papa G's would do it. But if you are just looking for a bite to eat, I think you can do better.
PS. Live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I suspect that if you are looking for a loud and rowdy bar scene, this would be the time and place. Papa G's has a lot of tall round tables, ideally situated in front of the stage. There is also a small dance floor.
