Pretty decent pizza at slightly elevated market value. Â Excellent selection of beer at good prices. Â Good selection of wine at rather steep prices. Decent selection of liquor of high prices.
Didn't know what to expect when my Dad-in-law suggested going out for lunch at a liquor store (I know things can get rough, but drinking your lunch? Â In public? But alas, you can actually eat real people food AND drink (well, beer and wine) at lunch, and THEN purchase the good stuff for later.
Very nice folks here - cashier even ran back to their kitchen for a few limes to make our dark and stormies the "right" way.
Definitely a place to keep in mind for a quick meal and/or to fill up your bev fridge.
I love this place. Great food. Unusual concept. Â First, the liquor store doesn't look all liquored up because what you see when you walk in is racks and racks of wine bottles. Really snazzes up a liquor store. In the entire front of the shop are tables--nothing fancy now--sort of tucked in next to the cooler here, another table by a box of wine there, a bunch of tables over there by the door leading to the outside area. The store is located in a huge strip mall three blocks off the town square. Probably not first date fodder, but a great option otherwise for friends and family or something on the run.
The wood fired pizzas are simply excellent and come out fast. The dough is tasty. Salads are wonderful as are the sandwiches. Dolmas are fantastic. I hear the wings rock. There are several beers on tap. You can buy any bottle of vino and for a $5 corkage drink it at the table. Good deal! Servers are efficient and nice.
Whether I need some wine, Smart Water or lunch/dinner, PPLD is always a go-to place for me in my visits to Prescott.
Also, their expanding their entire kitchen to get more great food out faster. Awesome.
The sandwich I had was good, but I'm going to have to try the pizzas next time because the ones I saw at the tables adjacent to mine all looked scrumptious and smelled amazing, and the people who ordered them looked orgasmic. Easy to find, lots of parking, decent prices, and I was just shocked to find some good food at a liquor store. I should really re-think what my expectations are of some places around here in Prescott, because I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
Review Source:This review is for the liquor store only--we have not eaten here but it looks pretty darned good.
This liquor store is surprisingly well-stocked considering you might miss it driving by and it's definitely not on the "main drag". We initially visited last year because they are supposed to have a good selection of local wine and beer. They definitely have that--pretty much any mainstream Arizona wine or brew can be found here. As an added bonus, they have quite a good selection of microbrews and craft beers from other areas of the country. I've seen some labels here they don't even carry at larger stores like BevMo and Total Wine in the Phoenix area.
Stop by and try something new!
This deli/liquor store was just the ticket on our first night living in Prescott. Everyone was tired, so we ordered delivery. How wonderful! Beer, check! Pizza, check! Sandwiches, check! We even were able to order a bag of ice, only it turned out they missed delivering that item. Still gets 4 stars in my book! Great pizza and hot sandwiches!
Review Source:we were in town for new years at my parents cabin and we wanted to try out a burger place in town so we came here when the first choice was closed on sundays. the restaurant was inside of a liquor store so its not very ideal if you have kids around... wouldnt want them breaking any liquor bottles and such... not many tables and it was right next to the door so when it would open the cold would come in (i didnt take my jacket off the whole time since it was always cold) i got a burger and my hubby got a woodfire pizza... everything just tasted bland... nothing special about anything. the shoestring fries were yummy but if they had some kind of sauce on the burger then it would be a little more tasty. the pizza was nothing special either just basic and not much flavor for wood fire pizza. the waitress was nice and came back quite a few times and asked how everything was. probably wont ever go back next time we are in town
Review Source:I've had the pizza about a dozen times. With one exception It's always been very good. Much better than any chain.
The Greek Gyro pizza is one of the tastiest pizza recipes I have ever had.
You can pick out ANY bottled  beer they sell and for a 50 cent charge, pop it open and drink it. That's a great deal and makes this the best beer selection in the area.
Service has always been OK, but no better.
The only thing I don't like is they have outdoor seating, but they don't allow smoking.
I come here more than I should. The pizzas are always great. They're thin and crispy and tasty. I recommend the Stinking Rose and the BBQ Chicken pizzas. The sandwiches are okay, nothing too exciting. They also have a good beer selection. They have a large selection of individual bottles so you can mix and match six packs or just get one bottle. I don't drink wine or liquor so I can't comment on their selction, but there's a lot to choose from. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend Park Plaza. Best pizza in Prescott!
Review Source:We had lunch. Â
It took very long for two sandwiches, good thing we were not in a hurry. Â Both sandwiches had about as much taste as Subway, but cost much more.
Not so special. Â I had the 'Ol Avocado. Â Nothing on the bread like mustard, sauce, mayo? Â Disappointing.
I would try other places before this one. Â fries were pretty good.
However.....really amazing liquor store inside. Â Much better than the restaurant.
Don't eat there, buy there!
Fabulous food!!
Great selection of beer, wine and other booze. AND they deliver!
My wife and I enjoy park plaza about once a week as the food is so yummy and reasonably priced. Who knew that some of the best eats I've had in Prescott would come from a liquor store? Definitely try it out. If you dig new beers on tap, stop in for lunch some day. I have yet to be disappointed.
Park Plaza Liquor is great, and gets my business regularly for several reasons.
They have a hu-u-uge selection of booze - every variety of vodka/beer/wine/whatever you could ever want. Â The prices are surprisingly great, and they have some seriously oddball stuff. Â I like to go sometimes just to browse. Â The staff is super helpful, and have even offered to special-order me something they didn't have. Â The cigarettes are a decent price, considering most liquor stores jack the price up, hoping to squeeze an extra buck or two out of people that are desperate for smokes with their drinks.
The restaurant is a little hit-or-miss ... the first time was excellent, second time was a half hour wait for a single BLT, third time was as good as the first. Â They have a lovely patio dining area - I remember one summer day where a monsoon began just as we ran in for some beers. Â We decided to wait it out and had lunch in the meantime, and took it outside. Â The patio shade extended just enough to protect us from the downpour, and it was a really beautiful point of view for one of the nicer things about Prescott summers. Â When was the last time you had a memorable experience at a liquor store??
This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. Â The food is always good and there is a variety of things to choose from. Â The pizza is very good and the sandwiches are tasty and imaginative. Â The shoe-strings are addictive and they have a good assortment of beers on tap. Â The store has a large assortment of beers, wines and liquors and they hold periodic tastings that are fun and inexpensive.
Review Source:The quality of the food is excellent. My favorite things on the menu are the turkey pesto melt, pulled pork, chopped salad, and any of the pizzas, which are woodfired and extremely reasonable. The best thing about this place is that you can grab a beer from the cooler and drink it with your meal for 50 cents. The liquor store has a GREAT selection of craft beers.
Review Source:Don't let the liquor warehouse look fool you--this place has some amazing, affordable eats. Great woodfired pizza, sandwiches, shoestring french fries, and beers on tap. Besides a having a great selection of beer, wine, and liquor, Park Plaza holds frequent wine tastings. For a small fee, you get to sample 5-6 wines, enjoy pizza, pasta, and cheeses. Good wine and food = great fun.
