I ordered the pork chop. The meat near the bone was still raw.  The waiter neglected to check back with us halfway through dinner or I would have had them finish cooking it.  So I just left it on my plate.  When the busboy came by to clean up I told him to tell the cook that my pork chop was raw on the inside.

No one came by to apologize.  No one offered to compensate me in anyway.  I ordered dessert, they could have given me that in compensation.  A small gesture that would have meant a lot.  But they didn't think to do so.

I understand that mistakes happen, but I don't understand how they can treat it like it's not a problem.  This is a very expensive restaurant.  Worth the money when they prepare the food right.  But not worth my going back knowing that if they fail, it's my problem not theirs.

OK, so I am going to try and help visitors out by suggesting this place.  No, it's not on Whiskey Row... no, it's not a 'bar and grill' type of food place... no, it's not cheap... it's a bit more expensive and has darker lighting, more intimate ambiance, great higher-end waiter service, and an excellent beer/wine selection (considering it's Prescott and not a huge metropolitan city).

This place is a dinner destination for those looking to have food that is more thought out.. maybe a little more complex or inventive.. not necessarily a foodie place but kinda close.  It is also a place to have a nice Sunday brunch because the champagne flows freely and your brunch is absolutely flavorful and very filling.

We went to several other places near and on Whiskey Row and we were disappointed with the commonality of them.. nothing special.. typical 'bar and grill' food which we are not fans of.  This place, on the other hand, was a nice surprise: inventive menu (not cheap), more intimate ambiance, great import Belgian beer selection, and an equally impressive brunch menu (including champagne).

    To what I had:
Meatloaf with brussel sprouts and potatoes.. let's just say the meatloaf was different.. not bad, just different and good, but definitely not as memorable as the brussel sprouts and I'm not even a fan of brussel sprouts!  I tried a few of their brunch dishes (see our pics) and all three were outstanding... crab benedict was delicious!

    So, now you know.....

They have the potential to be a really nice restaurant, but they're not there yet.  The wine list is very expensive, though we found a nice Syrah that was at the low end.  We  ordered the prime rib medium rare.  It came medium, a kind of ragged cut.  But it was very tasty.  The potatoes had a nice flavor but were cold.  The french green beans were perfect.

If they can learn to focus on the details and get them right, this will become an excellent restaurant.  If they don't, they aren't worth the money.
