Came here randomly on a Sunday late-morning to chat with a friend. Their menu is varied and pleasing, and they outdoor seating on a house-porch has a beautiful view of a little duck pond. Very nice. That's where it ended.
I ordered a roasted beet salad and a decaf coffee. They coffee was meh, but the beet salad was one of the worst salads I've ever had. It was supposed to have roasted beets but there were 4-5 very thin slices of (most definitely) canned beets, which had no flavor, no salt, no roasting, and were cold. Other than that, there was a small portion of goat cheese (which was fine) and a WHOLE lot of lettuce that tasted like vinegar. YEP, I said it. There were no other flavors present, just plain old white vinegar. No other spices or flavors. Then there was a weird clump of sauteed onions on top, which also had no flavor. I tried to eat that salad, but it was like, well - eating grass sprinkled with vinegar. Come on folks - the dressing is kind of crucial when you only have 4 components to your salad. My throat started to hurt from the overwhelming vinegar so I did not eat it.
My friend got a fancy egg creation, which LOOKED beautiful, but he said tasted extremely bland. No spices, weird textures, and not even a splash of salt. There was also no salt or pepper on the table. It was tiny for a $9 breakfast, and no good.
Avoid until they learn how to make food TASTE good.
I live around the corner from parkside. Â I've been there many times for lunch, dinner, even New Years. Â The ambiance is very up to date and pleasant. Â Most importantly I've never had a meal here I didn't like...in fact I've never been here with anyone who had a bad meal.
Support local business and enjoy a great meal, win win.
Went here this past week with my girl. Â A wednesday isn't usually crowded and this was the case. Â We were seated and having read some reviews from Yelp vets, I ordered.
Buger and sweet potato fries (fries were the recommendation). Â Burger was a little overcooked for medium, and the bun could have beren toasted but that's just from someone who enjoys a great burger. Â
The fries were as expected, amazing. Â Probably the best I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot.
The restaurant boasted an outside second story deck, which over the summer would probably be great. Â The duck pond is just another touch for the outdoor eating. Â The Souderton area has little to no good places to eat, so this place shines.
