Neighborhood bar & restaurant with a focus on great Italian food. Monday night Pizza is $5, plus any toppings you add. Thursday is $.45 wing night. I never skip the Greens & Beans, Love their Eggplant Parm, and their Italian Wedding soup - served daily.
Perfect restaurant at the corner of 15A & % & 20!
When I saw that they had eggplant Parmesan on the menu I was excited, until I found out that it was frozen instead of fresh! Yuck! My husbands "Italian platter" was also full of frozen foods. From the chicken to the ravioli to the tortellini. No thanks! If I wanted frozen food that badly I woulda just stayed home!!!!
Review Source:Whenever I have a craving for mac n cheese this is the place, especially when they have the special with bacon in it. Â Great atmosphere, I usally stop and get mine to go with a glass of wine while I wait. Â Seems to be a regular stop for some. Â Unsure how or why they have OTB in the bar, it just seems strange and funny.
Review Source:We pass through Lima a few times a year and decided to give this place a shot. We opted to sit in the restaurant potion of Pastaria Pub. There is nothing fancy about the decor or the bathrooms, but the food was pretty good. I enjoyed a bowl of escarole & beans over penne pasta with Italian sausage for $15.99. I know I could get the something better for less at other restaurants I've reviewed. My wife was content with her Eggplant Parmesan for $12.99. There wasn't anything special to note about the generous portion of eggplant over a bed of spaghetti. The bread was warm and the side salads were fine. The best party of the meal was probably the brownie sundae (vanilla ice cream over a delicious brownie). The server was friendly and the service was prompt.
Review Source:I recommend Pastaria Pub for business lunches, group events, and date dinners. Their pasta sauce is made from fresh ingredients [real tomatoes, not canned stuff]. I have never had a dish that was not top notch - pastas, beef, chicken, sandwiches are all fresh, tender and tasty. For groups, do call ahead so they will plan for you. For lunches I like to sit in their "pub" area next to their sports bar - I am reminded of the British pubs I visited while in England years ago, not the decor but the small town atmosphere and friendliness [Jim the owner will come over and see how you are doing].
Review Source:My parents, boyfriend and I went to the Pastaria a few days ago on our way back home from the Genesee Country Village. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from this place, but the sign looked new and fun so I thought we'd give it a try.
As we went inside, we could decide to either eat in the dining room or in the bar area. We decided on the bar area because my dad wanted to be able to watch the TV's that were showing different sports. Our waitress was super friendly and quickly got us our drinks. The menu was typical. When I heard the name Pastaria I assumed there'd be pizza, pasta, sandwiches, etc. There were all of those things, and typical "bar" foods. I settled on pasta with Alfredo sauce, but was disappointed that there were only 3 choices of pasta - spaghetti, penne & angel hair. No fettucini! Boo! How am I suppose to have Fettucini Alfredo without the fettucini! So I went for penne. My boyfriend had the fish fry and a salad. My parents shared a pizza.
While we waited for our food to arrive, we were given some bread to eat. The food came out quickly. My alfredo looked promising, but after eating it for a bit, I decided it more than likely was not homemade sauce, and wasn't the greatest alfredo. I loveeeee alfredo, and this was just alright. However, my boyfriends french fries were AMAZING! And my parents enjoyed their pizza. We did not have dessert here as I had seen a sign for a homemade ice cream place further along on the way back, and we were planning on stopping there (Shark's).
I'd say this is a nice place to stop if you want a quick, good meal, but I think next time we will try Peppermint's (closer to the museum), since my mom wanted to go there.
Erin says...you suck (for not having fettucini!) and you rock (for your french fries!)!!
