This place is a DUMP. Â I took my sister to Plymouth when she was visiting from out of town recently. Â I wanted to show her how cute and fun Plymouth is. Â We wandered up and down the streets, bought treats for her dog at the cute dog shop, and then wanted to pick somewhere for lunch. Â
We thought Penn Grill looked like a nice enough place on the outside for a few salads or a wrap. Â We wanted to sit inside because it was a hot day, so we headed in to the darkness of the restaurant. Â There are only tall tables (not conducive for a stroller) and the stools were so squeaky. Â The table was sticky. Â The service was extremely slow (kitchen and waitress). Â The bathroom was disgusting. Â There were a ton of flies in the bathroom which is right next to the kitchen. Â EW. Â Her baby was waking up and we wanted to eat quickly, or we would have left. Â Our salads were mediocre. Â It was a very forgettable place, and I will not give it a second chance. Â I can see how it might be cool for drinks only... just not a spot for lunch.
If there is a bar that really fits my personal interest its the Penn Gril & Bar. I trully feel at home when I'm here. Terrific for sports, excellent for catching up with old friends. My dad drives all the way from downriver to meet me here. He likes it too. Very friendly staff and the owner seem like a really nice guy who takes great pride in this place. The only downside is weekday nights they have trivia and weekends it gets pretty crowded. Other than that I don't have a bad thing to say. Okay, food is average but reasonably priced.
Review Source:It is a bar. Â Stick with the drinks. Â If you must eat, the pizza rolls are OK. Â The last time I was here I had a Turkey Ruben that was completely forgettable. Â If you are looking for a quick lunch or dinner, there are better choices in downtown Plymouth. Â
Looking to have some drinks and watch some sports on TV - this place is fine.
