I've always liked this venue, even dating back to the more misfortunate days when it had the cheesiest of cheesy monikers bestowed upon it, as The G Spot (bleck, I mean really?) The name now, is not much better, a Phoenix is supposed to rise from the ashes, not be underground, but whatev...I like the layout, the place is actually underground, so they got that part right. These days, the only time I visit this place is when they host the annual cigar-smoking celebration called Smoking On The Red (read my review here on Yelp) as they have done every April for the last couple of years or so. You take an elevator down to the basement (this was also once an old bank) and proceed with the partying! It's open til 6am for even the most hardcore of partiers (yeaaah boyyyyeeee!), but not this 41 year-old (noooo boyyyyeeee!) 'cause that's way past my bedtime!

Drinks okay...good mix of people...elevator ride w/creepy unknown frat boys...eww..waited till next ride.  Some ppl were obviously too intoxicated to be let in but that didn't bother the employees...regulars maybe? Interesting night..fun time overall. My only tip for ladies..guys can get pushy so travel in packs. ;-)

In a word, awkward. First of all, the so-call setup of the club is essentially this: you are in a basement below ground. God forbid that place ever catch on fire. The entire time I was there I kept having flashes to that fire in 2003 at the Great White concert that killed 100 people. Luckily the night I was there, there was not a terrible band or pyrotechnics to set the place ablaze.

Instead there was a DJ there.... and look, I don't know if the elevator to that club is in reality a portal of some kind, and I actually time traveled to 2004, or if the DJ just doesn't have a more modern repertoire, because not a single song dated past the year 2006 that night was played (friday; between 12 and 3am). That's not NECESSARILY a slam; if it comes down to it, I'd MUCH rather dance to Ying Yang Twinz over say, Ke$ha. But after a steady stream of jamz from 50 Cent, Shaggy, Lil' John... I started wondering if maybe he'd accidentally deleted any more recent songs. Or if it was a theme night.

Everyone I've told I was there has asked, "did you lie on the beds?", because, of course, there are beds there. I guess someone watched that old Sex And the City episode and figured that'd be an edgy, awesome addition to the club. Of course, I'm sure the dry cleaning cost quickly soured the managers and owner, and there's a velvet (velour?) rope surrounding the crisp white linens, which in turn hide the bodily fluid stains that most certainly dot those poor mattresses. Someone dragged me over to "look" at the beds, and just being within 3 feet of them made me feel creepy, and itchy.

Obviously, there are people who were into this kind of place. But the highlight of the night for me was the hot dog guy outside. Well done, hot dog guy!

I love the setup of the club and the music. I also like the hours, but I do agree that it is pretty dead until midnight. Most dance clubs I have been to are similar.

I love that there is a dress code because it is nice to see people dress up! The drinks can be a little pricey but not too bad. The only annoying things are the cover charge and lack of exits (I have no idea if or where the staircase is).

Anyways, this is a fun place, and I hope it stays because none of the other clubs are like it at all.

It is the only late night dance club in Shreveport.  Stays open until 6am, so the party usually doesn't start till late.  My friends and I usually get there around midnight, maybe a little before.  There are a lot of folks of all ages.  They do have a dress code, so dress nice.

If you are a dance music lover like I am, it is the only place in the city to hear it.  Every other club is only hip-hop and top 40, so it's nice to go somewhere they does actually different genres like house and trance.

If you're looking for somewhere to party and shake your booty in Shreveport, this is it.

Alright, I agree with Chris, this place is dead at first, but it definitely gets packed! This is a jazzy place for Shreveport and I was so pleased to see such a socially and physically mixed crowd.

The music was diverse and I loved the second room with the stripper pole and white decor! The VIP sections are spread throughout the club and some have beds instead of sofas (I die!!)

The drinks are indeed the cheapest I have ever purchased at a club and I enjoyed treating myself and my party to many drinks!

Needless to say....I was partied out!

I can't give PU any more than 3 because it was D-E-A-D when we went at 10:30 on a Saturday night.

As a concept, it's pretty cool.  It's UNDERGROUND!  You take an elevator to get to it!  There are lots of couches, big booths, and VIP type areas.

But since there were maybe 15 people there (over half of those in my group), I can't really give it more than 3 stars right now.  Drinks were cheapish ($3 for Shiners and $6 or $7 for Patron shots), the music decent (if loungey).

I think this place picks up after midnight, but I'm old as fuck and that's time for me to go back to the hotel and get shot down by my wife.  Unless I'm on Vegas time and I get shot down at 2am.
