I came to Piaci Pub and Pizzeria based on the great Yelp reviews during my recent visit to Ft. Bragg. I do have to admit that this review is probably not a great representation of the overall restaurant because I only had a salad, no pizza (however, the pizza looked amazing!) I had the beet salad and added chicken. The salad and vegetables were great, and the vinaigrette on the side was delicious. But, I only have 4 stars because the grilled chicken on the salad did not seem "grilled" and looked like small rubbery strips. It tasted okay, very bland.
Overall, the salad was good. I will definitely order the pizza next time I am there. The venue is very cute and the bar tender was very friendly as I was sitting solo at the bar. Small, hometown feel with a great range of local craft brews and wines available!
We arrived at Piaci Pizza shortly after settling into Fort Bragg for a couple of days. We were hungry and read great reviews here on Yelp, so we decided to give it a go. It was absolutely packed, which was a good sign. They only accept cash, but have an ATM located conveniently in the back. We had a seat at the bar and ordered drinks. They had a very nice local and semi-local (CO, OR, etc) beer and wine selection, and gluten-free options. I ordered a thick Weiss beer and we split a Caprese salad, which was excellent and fresh. We split an 8" Primavera pizza for dinner, which was more than enough for two and very, very tasty. Crust is hand tossed and made fresh, mere feet from the bar (you can catch a pizza flying through the air occasionally). Sauce to cheese ratio is very nice, and toppings were fresh. A very satisfying, affordable pizza place. Piaci's should be proud of their food and atmosphere! We had a great time!!
Review Source:Above average food but when the waiter says 'I heard you the first time' when you asked for something after waiting an unnecessary amount of time, you don't exactly feel welcome to come back.
Additionally, if I want a diet soda, I don't need a lecture from a bartender about chemicals and health when he's serving me pizza.
Note to cook: if your customers can hear you burping, they may question your food sanitation.
I'm not sure why I left a hole in the wall pub feeling like I just left a five star restaurant, maybe it's locals arrogance of thinking you don't need tourists, but I will not return to this place on subsequent vacations, which is sad, because the food was good.
