This is only for the bar (although I have stayed here multiple times & eaten @ resturant even more - - all positive experiences).  We made the short 1 hour drive to Pinehurst last night for dinner.  So awesome.  Stopped @ Pinecrest for a pre-dinner drink.  The bar was not crowded and service was friendly & fast.  The cocktails were strong and inexpensive.  Carl is the man.  I love it here - - - come serveral times a year and always question why I don't go more often!  Will have to change that in 2013.  Highly recommend stopping in for a drink, a bite to eat or an overnight. Best place in town!!

Terrible Christmas dinner. Alfredo was a tasteless bland soup of yuck. Had to load with salt and pepper to choke down. Shrimp was good though; all 3 pieces. Peach cobbler replaced with apple. Terrible mess. Strawberry crape when tiny and not tasty. Pecan pie was good. Hard to believe this is a premium place.

Whether it's Pinehurst residents coming together to discuss politics over gin and tonics, golfers recounting stories of birdies lost to undulating greens, or tourists planning out their Pinehurst vacation, the Pinecrest Inn acts as the central meeting spot for this idyllic golf village.  Located in the heart of the Pinehurst village, it is easy walking distance to the main hotel, as well as the golf clubhouse.  Situated in what appears to be an old residence, the Pinecrest features several dining areas, as well as it's central, dark bar area.

If you do go, don't forget to get some saltines and the port cheese.  Nothing goes better with booze than spreadable cheese.  The staff seems friendly, and when you walk in, there is a real sense of camraderie with everyone.  Highly recommended.  It's a place that really celebrates civility, harnessing the spirit of sadly departed local legend, political titan and Pinecrest regular Ed Kennedy - the Pinecrest was a place that even mortal political enemies could shake hands and share a drink at the aged and timeless bar.  There are far too few places like the Pinecrest left, so be sure to stop in on your next time in the Pinehurst village.

Amazing dinner & bar atmosphere for any golfer on a weekend adventure! The staff will always take good care of you and late night after a few drinks, try to chip the golf ball into the fireplace to see if you still have it for tomorrow's play!

The friendliest place in Pinehurst. Awesome staff that organizes you golfing adventures. A great bar that is a wonderful mix of old and young, local and traveling golfer.   And a wonderful dinner.

Get the pork chops. 2+ inches thick, slow cooked for hours to be fork tender. (And easy enough to make at home if you have a great butcher that can get you the right cut of pork.)

Food is awesome! Get the pork chop. Relish dish is fantastic. Wings great too. So good we ate there twice in 3 days. Second time I got the prime rib and it was awesome.
