Pineville Tavern

Having dinner with John & LAura Bly at the Pineville Tavern, a block from our house.

Drove by this place for years, and never peeked inside.  Until I noticed a big sign that they were remodeling and adding a patio.  Finally, stopped in for a summer eve "catch up" with a girlfriend: they do have a very pleasant pebbled outdoor eating area: mission-style wood furniture and some umbrellas, along with a charming corner seating made of polished and lacquered wood trunks.  The eating area is separated from the rear parking lot with a row of

We came in for drinks and nibbles, but there was no seating outdoors.  Thus, we elected to stick to beverages only, on the "log" furniture [quite comfy, actually], and had to fetch the drinks from the inside bar ourselves.  

I scanned the menu: it's primarily standard American fare, with options for vegetarians, pescetarians and carnivores.  The prices appear on the high end of mid-range. The major down side is insufficient parking on pleasant days.

Cute place, good service. Our burgers were good, but could have been awesome if they weren't well done, but cooked medium rare like we asked. This was my first time there, and being in this business for a long time, I understand there are off days. We will give it another shot sometime.
