I've eaten here a few times in the past and it has always been good. Â I had the Dam Burger as this is the World Famous Burger as the sign says on the side of the place. Â I ordered and then went to use the restroom. Â The restroom has been remodeled and it's nice and clean but only suitable for one person at a time. Â BUT, it has no lock on the door so while you are sitting doing your business others walk in on you, say they are sorry and walk out. Â I mentioned the lack of a lock on the restroom to the lady behind the bar and obviously that was not something she wanted to hear about. Â She told me in no uncertain terms that "No one has EVER complained about it before!" and she was not open to any suggestion that a lock would be a good idea. Â She then barked at my friend because he was leaning back in his chair. Â Do you remember the Sinfield episode about the soup Nazi? Â You get the idea. Â The food was good and at a reasonable price, but I will not be returning, EVER! Â I don't expect to be treated like that anyplace I am spending my money and by anyone who is making me food.
Oh, they don't take credit cards either. Â CASH!!!
On our way north from Mt. St. Helen's, we weren't sure what type of food we would encounter. But we were HUNGRY. We took a chance pulling off of Rt. 12 into the tiny town of Mossyrock and were lucky enough to find this great heaping slice of Americana.
It was a quiet thursday afternoon in the Pioneer, and so the few people working/hanging out there were interested to hear about why we had been taking a road trip through their state. While we chatted, the friendly ladies behind the bar cooked us up some lunch and served us a great cheap beer called Kokanee.
The Dam burger is a must for anybody of the carnivorous persuasion. It was magnificent. Prices were very reasonable. I doubt there is a better place to eat for miles!
With limited food options in Mossyrock, this is an A-OK place serving up your standard bar food. Â We opted for the famous "Best DAM Burger" and it is HUGE! Â They offer up daily specials with decent prices throughout the whole menu. Â A pitcher of beer only runs $7! Â They also serve liquor.
Children are allowed the the back end of the place, but they have to enter from the back door.
