I ate here for breakfast early on a Saturday morning. Â I got good food and had a great time talking with the locals. Â They serve breakfast standards: eggs, hashbrowns, toast, ham, bacon, sausage, pancakes, etc. Â You get the idea.
This is a family operated joint. Â The dad was the server that morning. Â He did a good job keeping my coffee cup filled and generally making sure I had what I needed. Â The son was the cook. Â My eggs were done as I requested, over medium, and my mexi-hashbrowns were tasty with the addition of peppers and onions.
Things really got going when we started talking about the cupcakes they sell. Â They are made in the restaurant. Â I'm pretty sure mom and son are the driving force behind the cupcakes. Â The flavors are based on drinks like Tequila Sunrise and Daiquiri's (though as the son pointed out, they don't put in enough to be regulated by the OLCC!)
The dad cut one into forth's and let several customers including myself try a piece. Â This was one tasty cupcake. Â If you are used to those from Costco or a grocery store bakery you are in for a real treat. Â Yummy! Â These had a true cake crumb. Â The frosting was made with butter. (You can tell!) Â I can't wait for my next trip to Toppenish!
PS I was the only woman in the restaurant with 8 men and they were all perfect gentlemen.
