I am a big big big big fan of Pizza Ranch. I have been to New Ulm twice in my life. On Dec. 11 I made my third visit. I was treating my buddy to lunch, and upon spying Pizza Ranch we opted for it over Perkins. We can eat at Perkins here in the metro, you gotta go out to the fringe areas of the metro to get Pizza Ranch... still. :(
The pizza was good, the chicken was hot and fresh. We dined with the Sunday lunch crowd, so it was pretty busy.
Although the pizza was up to par, the selection and availability was lackluster each time I got up. I'm use to more variety and better availability whenever I'm ready for a hot slice of pie.
As for the chicken and potatoes, the chicken was indeed excellent, but there were less items available in this area than I am use to. It's a small serving table, suggesting they never has as many varieties of potatoes and sides to choose from. And where were the chicken finger? Good thing my buddy Cosmo wasn't with me, he'd have pouted.
Salad bar was fine, I didn't try the soup.
As I said, the food was decent, but the New Ulm location wasn't up to my expectation for overall variety and service. If I find myself in New Ulm again I won't pass it up, but I wouldn't rate the New Ulm location the gold standard.
Hodang, do I looooove me some Pizza Ranch!
On a visit to my dear friend who lives in New Ulm, we decided to have lunch at the local PR. Â The only other one I've ever been to is out in Ortonville, MN. Â This was a nice treat, as the PR reminds me of going to the cabin with the family.
Where else on this fine planet can a person get BLT pizza and a scoop of mashed potatoes?
