Poppy's Time Out Sports Bar & Grill

When I am visiting my parents here in Destin I sneak out in the middle of the night to have drinks at Poppy'S.  It is a chilled place with affordable drinks. Sometimes they will have a D.J playing club hits. I love a good drink and some chair dancing.

Good place to go watch the game. Make a reservation if there are a ton of games on that night. Also, it helps if you tell them which game you are there for and they will position you in a place where there are tvs playing it. You end up sitting next to your rivals but that's what makes the night fun. Their food is pretty good. Nice selection. Fries are great! But here's why I gave this place three stars.... We got to the hostess table but had to wait in line because the hostess had left her position for a while to go into the back. When we finally got to our table, we waited for 15-20 minutes before we saw our server. But before that I had to ask three different other servers to find our server. They all went to "ask the manager." I never saw them again. Since we were there to watch a game, we wanted to order some appetizers and drinks and then food later. Our server didn't seem to understand that concept even after being explained to. So he kept coming back for our food orders and we kept telling him later later LATER! Finally we just gave up and ordered food. I would understand that he wanted to turn our table over quick if the place was crowded, but the place had quieted down while we were there. Before all of us finished food and drinks, he brought us our checks. No mention of desert or more drinks? Dude, I'm trying to let you redeem yourself and earn some money off of me. When he kept asking if our checks were ready to be processed I just ordered another drink and he looked at me like "really?"
Long story short, terrible service, slow service, good food, potential for fun atmosphere.
Ps check in and get a free draft beer.

Came here with my family. Overall a mediocre experience. Definite plus for the check in offer, but overall there was definitely no wow factor to this place.
