Drove for 2 hours, to eat crab.  Walked into this oceanfront restaurant, got seated and ordered crab. I was told no crab available, so I ordered crab cakes and fried oysters.  Crab cakes were large, but looked and appeared like potato cakes with no hint of any crab visually and taste.  Ate only half of one cake.  Fried oysters were browned on one side and undercooked on the other side.  The oysters tasted like mushy undercooked breading.
Ended up buying 2 whole cooked crabs at another place, took it back to our hotel and enjoyed it there.

This is a small little place that apparently has a bar upstairs for later in the evening.

We came in later than normal for lunch and there were not too many people in the old style diner like place.

The waitress was quick to greet us and take our order.  I got the fish and chips which were tasty and the guy got the salmon burger.

This is not the fanciest place but perfectly fine for a snack or two.

It's not a bad place and I will probably come back again, however, I do prefer Mo's across the street.

We came here for lunch one foggy December afternoon.  The place was pretty empty and our cheerful server gave us lots of attention.  I had the salmon burger which was quite good, plus a Black Butte Porter served very well.  So why only 3 stars?  The place wasn't overly clean, and the prices were a little high.

This place has to be the most disgusting place I have eaten at in years. Both my sister and I had to go home and throw it all up after eating there. We were going to eat at Local but there was a 25 minute and our sons were starving. So we walked up to Poo Deck...I mean Port Dock and there was no wait list but we had to wait a good 8 minutes for the waitress/hostess to acknowledge us ( she was the only waitress for the whole restaurant). When we were seated we ordered the Jumbo Sea Scallop wrapped in bacon, Clams in broth, and the Shrimp Stuffed Salmon with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and two cups of Clam Chowder. Well the clam chowder wasn't bad but it was bland and taste like flour. The scallops were 5 of the smallest scallops wrapped in a whole slice of bacon and while the bacon was cooked it was still gooey and soft. The whole dish had no flavor and so not worth the $11. The clams weren't bad but the broth it was in taste like phoenix, AZ tap water and that's all you could taste and it came with two little slivers of "garlic bread" which were hot dog buns. The Salmon....(grimance) wasn't fresh like it claimed. It was old and smelly and super fishy. Brought fish oil pills to mind. It was almost jerky on the top and soggy on the bottom and has little pieces of salad shrimp in the middle. The potatoes were dry and old and the veggies were not fresh and so over boiled that they were pale in appearance. In total our bill was $60 and a complete waste of money. Nasty Nasty Nasty! We saw a taco cart outside and wished we had eaten there instead and saved some money. DON'T EVER GO THERE!

Five stars for the fettucini which is AMAZING. (and the lemon drops)
    Best ever.
Short staffed and waitresses that are just there without their personality.
Working in customer service-I have higher expectations.
The sea lions are fun to watch for tourists.

We went up to the bar section here because it was the only place available and that didn't have a long wait.

I had chicken strips - didn't feel like getting an entire Fish N Chips. They were actually really good, and so were the fries. As simple as they sound, you can screw them up. These ones were lightly breaded and flavorful. Everybody at the table enjoyed their food, they said it was fresh. I could only hope so, considering the seafood company is on either side and the ocean is out the window. My husband got Halibut Fish N Chips, and I had a piece or two. We both agreed that the breading on them was super bland and flavorless. I'm just starting to like fish n chips, so it was a bummer for me because they just didn't have any flavor to them. Fortunately they gave us tartar sauce, so that added a bit of kick.

Everybody else got the seafood platter and clam chowder and they liked it quite a bit.

The service sucked, but that's to be expected in a dive kinda bar and there was only one bartender. She messed up our tabs but I don't mind because she had to run up and down the stairs repeatedly and probably was exhausted.

All and all...a-ok. In the rare occasion that I go back to this small part of Newport, I would stop here again...it wasn't terrible.

I love Port Dock One! The food is good, the service is awesome, and the view is amazing. Not to mention that the recently remodeled it, and it looks amazing! I will be back, and I will reccomend this to my friends who travel to the coast!

We were in Newport looking for a place to get some chowder, but the wait for Moe's was more than an hour, so we decided to keep walking down the street. Port Dock One had a 10 minute wait (which should have been our first alarm considering how packed downtown was), but we decided to try it anyways.

After being seated downwind from some foul-smelling sea lions, we asked to be reseated inside. How anyone can eat with that noise or smell is beyond me.

We each ordered a bowl of chowder, which was definitely made with more flour than cream, and was too black peppery. The fried clams were tiny bits of deep fried clam, which we literally had to eat with a spoon. And our server definitely did not want to be working there.

As Jimbo A. mentioned, the Pepsi was good.

Went there last year with a large party. We were seated right away but ignored for about 30 minutes. It was not a busy night. Food was so-so. I was amused by the use of hot dog bun for garlic bread. Bad, bad service.

Great view + run down/out of date decor + ho hum food = Great tourist trap. I think the Port Dock One is best described as "It is what it is." The best thing about this place is the view and that they serve Pepsi.

If you want GOOD food with a good view, than head down the road to Saffron Salmon.

Negative Stars!!!!!  Don't let the sign and location fool you.  My wife and I just experienced the worst meals of our lives here...  and we were in the military.
The customer service is non-existent throughout any part of the experience.  We ordered a salmon burger with fries and a beef burger with fries. The salmon burger was a soggy, light pink mass of unidentifiable material.  The mushrooms were old, canned and covered in slime.  The beef burger was bluish-grey and cold.  The french fries were soggy and cold as well.  The only edible parts on the plate were the onion and lettuce garnish.  Between the two of us, we managed to swallow four bites of food (mostly of the garnish) and a dozen fries.
When we told the waitress that we couldn't eat the food, she muttered something after taking our plates as she was walking away.  She took the one entree off the bill but it still was not worth it.
We are not a couple with extravagant tastes, we are actually quite simple in that respect, but this food, hands-down, is the worse food I have ever been served.  The only positive part of the experience was being able to look out the window down to the sea lions.  But that was quickly dissolved when you realized that you had to take a bite out of that disgusting, awful piece of matter sitting on the plate before you.  It made you want to cut out your tongue in order to escape from the taste and texture of that food.

I went to this restaurant just yesterday, and it was not my first time. The reason that I came back for a second round was because the first meal was so good. The halibut fish and chips are really good--they're hand cut and breaded filets.

Well, this experience was not as enjoyable. We remembered from our last meal that the waitresses were not so great. They really give the impression that they don't care about you, the food, or even getting a tip. We just don't pay attention to them and all seems to be fine.

Anyway, so I ordered  the halibut fish and chips but with a salad instead of fries. Yum yum yum I eat 4 of the 5 pieces of fish and my salad. The fifth piece I offer to my man for a bite. He takes a big bite of it and I take it back on my plate. I see something on the flesh of the fish and, thinking that it was a piece of breading, casually flick it off with my fork. Turns out it was a WORM. A nicely curled up (dead) fish worm. Disgusting.

Now, I used to work at Skippers and I've cut and breaded my fair share of fish. I know that fish, like any land dwelling animal, get worms. Ensuring that they don't make their way into a piece someone is going to eat is not 100% preventable. It happens. I GET that. I'm not looking to have my meal compted at all. What I don't get is the reaction I received from the waitress:

"So, what are they... like, $3 a piece? Um, do you want, like, $3, taken off your tab?" I just stared.

Seriously. No apology. No explanation (they should be well versed in explanations). Not even a joke so we could all laugh the situation away. Just an I-don't-give-a-shit-pay-and-get-out attitude.

I was so floored by this complete lack of customer service. Even though it's not really their fault, they ought to be apologetic when a customer almost eats a parasite. What if I had been someone who didn't know that fish sometimes have flesh worms? I probably would have been screaming and freaking out.

I hate to say it, but when someone in my group found a ladybug in their salad at Red Lobster, the MANAGER came over, apologized profusely, and compted that persons meal--and replaced the bug salad too. This is almost the same thing. Bugs in fresh lettuce happen, but that didn't stop the manager from explaining that fact and apologizing.

    Yeah. I'll never return.
