Portofino Ristorante

The food, as usual, is very good. Service is average. The downside is the bread they serve with the meals. They really need to find another baker. Good value for the price.

I find myself kind of shocked at how depressing the ambiance is at this restaurant, and how high the prices are. They are charging high-end Rhinebeck prices and they are not delivering--not in the area of service, ambiance or quality of food. They do have a decently priced weekday special which includes a flight of wine, so we occasionally go....though I still always leave feeling somewhat ripped off. Aesthetically speaking, the decor borders on frightening and really needs to be fixed if they expect to continue charging so much for food that seems to get worse every time we go.

Great food. Nice wine list. Great bruschetta.
