This review will be written strictly using quotes that were said during and after the meal my family and I just ate at 2 Taste:
"Oh! These flights of wine are so cute AND delicious!"
"This is the BEST pork chop I have ever had...THE BEST!"
"OMG this fennel salad and chicken are freaking amazing. I want to eat it again and again!"
"This is the biggest piece of steak I have ever seen!"
"Can I have that pork chop bone? I want to cut off the tiny piece of meat that is left on it and eat it."
"Yay! French press coffee!"
"Holy crap, this coffee with Frangelico and Bailey's is insane!"
"I feel like this mousse is giving me a Nutella hug."
"I just burped and it reminded me of how much I LOVED that pork chop."
If the above quotes don't convince you to try this restaurant, I don't know what will.
Take it from me (this stranger from Yelp), you will ENJOY the crap out of this restaurant.
Felt like this restaurant needed another (and more recent) review to show the love it deserves! My husband and I visited the area for the weekend for the first time. Â After a tremendous lunch at a CIA restaurant, we figured wherever we had dinner would just be be an afterthought. Â But after our experience at 2 Taste, we have now concluded that today must be the best food day we've ever had!
We sat at the Chef's Table (bar) and that was exciting in and of itself, as the self-proclaimed foodies we are.
We both had two small plates each (see lunch note above). Â From the homemade bread + tapenade to salads to the pork belly sliders and truffle mac and cheese, every element was made with such care and precision. Â Taste was consistently spot-on and plating was creative and thoughtful.
My husband very much enjoyed his wine selections as well as a harder-to-find scotch with our homemade sorbet dessert.
Furthermore, the service was top notch. Â We felt cared for and important without feeling hovered over. We couldn't believe at the end of the meal that we had stayed for a little over two hours! But we just had such a great time, it felt much shorter.
Based on some earlier reviews, perhaps the restaurant was working out some early kinks. Â Well I can attest that they have been worked out! We will definitely be back here the moment we are in the area again.
Very much enjoyed our dinner here. Â Nice wine list, good beer selection and some cocktails as well.
Bread with olive tapanade for the table was delicious.
We shared an app of goat cheese and red grape croquettes drizzled with honey which was fantastic. Â It came with a nicely dressed side salad.
I had the duck confit with port wine reduction, green beans and red bliss potatoes. Â It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, which was a bit odd, but delicious none the less. Â My only criticism was the duck was a tad salty for my taste.
Husband had crab cakes over corn salad and green beans. They were fresh chunks of lump blue crab, nicely seasoned and not held together with a bunch of goopy mayo or over fried and greasy. They were light and perfect.
We were so full, we skipped dessert.
They have loads of specials, including 1/2 price bottles of wine on Tues & Wed, wine flights and also a cheese board and bottle of wine for $35 on Sundays.
Great place that we will be adding to our rotation in Hyde Park - as there are really no other decent restos to speak of in the area.
