This is a pretty sweet little bar! Good location, and they do have a parking lot (albeit small) right next to it, so you don't have to worry about street parking or fighting for a spot in a municipal Po-City lot.
One of my favorite things about the Dubliner is that the staff is very friendly and courteous, something that seems is becoming harder and harder to find. This place is simple and honest. There are no gimmicks. Food is great, drinks are good, prices are reasonable. The beer selection is generally pretty good, and it's never really crowded. How much more could you want?
If you're not participating, trivia night can be irritating (but that's the case anywhere there's trivia night). Since it's only one large room, you can't really escape the noise. The last time I was there, they had a pretty awful DJ playing early 2000s top 40 hits, and it was way too loud (I don't mean "too loud" in the sense that I'm old and don't like listening to music...I'm in my 20s and I thought it was WAY TOO LOUD), but that's barely anything to comment on since I don't think it's a general trend. You shouldn't have to scream at the top of your lungs for your friends sitting across the table from you to be able to hear you.
Anyway, to sum it up, the Dubliner is a nice little bar. Definitely one of my top picks for a Friday night of drinks and appetizers with a couple friends, or to watch a game. (They're really good about taking requests on what to put on the TVs, too.)
I love this bar and honestly am here for dinner most nights of the week. However, I am writing this out of frustration...
Among the many things they do right, there are great nights each week such as trivia night. I unfortunately never remember which day of the week it falls on (Tuesday or Thursday maybe?). I would love to just call and ask, but THEY DON'T HAVE A PHONE!
Please get a phone! Then I will love you again.
