Bridgeport? Â Bridgeport, Texas?? Â Italian food in Bridgeport, Texas??? Â Yes, yes, and yes!
First of all, thank you to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Â I was on a road trip with a friend and about 1/2 mile from Pronto's a DPS Trooper pulled out on US-380 in front of us. Â Well we didn't feel like following him for miles so my friend said we should just pull in here and grab a bite to eat. Â "Here" turned out to be Pronto's. Â "Here" turned out to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at. Â The thing I remembered most about my first visit was the pasta was perfectly cooked, not a bit rubbery or crisp, absolutely perfect (I wish I remembered exactly what dish it was but that was a few years ago). Â A pizza to go was also enjoyed that night around the campfire.
Well recently I was traveling with the family back from Lubbock and we were looking for a place to stop and eat. Â I told everyone about having some of the best Italian food ever in Bridgeport. Â I was really hoping the first time wasn't just a bit of luck. Â Well it wasn't. Â Everyone was more than pleasantly surprised about how great everything was. Â I ordered the Chicken Florentine (breast of chicken served in a creamy alfredo sauce simmered with mushrooms & spinach) and it was delightful. Â Again one of the best things is that the pasta was cooked absolutely perfect. Â Everyone in my family agreed that they never imagined finding Italian food of this quality in Bridgeport.
So when you recommend Pronto's and you get the questions I started my review with shot back at you...answer them with my answers and hit the road. Â You won't be sorry!
We are very lucky to have found this little gem of a restaurant! Â We have never been disappointed by pronto's.
We love their pizza. Â My kids love to make their own pizzas when we dine in the restaurant. Â They always ask to make their own every time we visit. Â My favorite pizza is the Chef's Special! Â YUM!
I absolutely crave their tortellini in pink sauce. Â All of their pasta dishes are to die for and their homemade rolls go great with everything.
We also really love their fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms. Â Pronto's is so much better than what you would find at Olive Garden or any other Italian chain. Â It is absolutely worth the drive!
