Yesterday's Texas

The chicken fried chicken is gooood. Like comfort food your granny might make. Some of my favorites are the boba-loo fries (fries topped with real bacon bits, jalapenos, cheese and scallions served with a side of ranch). The rolls are very tasty. The chef salad is huge!

Ok.......so I am not really big into nostalgia places, but my folks insisted that they take me and the lil lady to it.  Upon walking in you are overwhelmed at the amount of crap (and yes I do mean kitsch-y crap) that is placed on the wall......its like a Chili's location threw up in there.  The waitstaff is friendly considering they're all teenagers.  Now the food.....my missus had the chicken fried strips (which had some hokey name like "Ramma-Lamma-Ding-Dong" or something to do with Elvis) which were crispy and not dried out like some places serve them.  I had the Rowdy Burger without BBQ sauce, which consists of a bowel movement-less amount of cheese, BACON, and mayo for me.  Order the onion rings instead of the fries........THEY'RE THE BEST HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!  Very flaky and they even throw the little bits of fried goodness onto your plate (you know....those little fried bits that have no onion in them, but are still awesome?) and well its not bad for a place in Bridgeport.  Stop by sometime and try'em out.
