  I have stopped by Ptarmigan's from time to time over the past few years.  The decor is funky and fun and they have dart boards.  They always seem to have groovy drink specials and usually are not overly crowded.  I have heard this placed called both a "frat house" and "Mexican hangout", but in my experience it has always been a mixed fun crowd.

  Have stopped by here twice now, admittedly not during the certain bump and grind hours that certainly happen late friday and saturday evenings.   What has caught my attention while taco hunting in this largely hispanic / Mexican part of Bryan was the "Aggie Martini".   Goes down smooth after some local trailer tacos.    
  
  Would not hesitate to stop in later in the evenings.   In fact I might to see what's going on.   Looks like a cool spot to hang out, and after living in Mexico (aka East Houston) for 20 years, I like Mexican hang outs.   This one seems to be a great middle ground, and of course you can see A&M up the street from here.
