R PUB

I went here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. We were in the area and forgot that there was a Penguins game starting in a few minutes. So, we decided to stop and have a bite to eat and watch the first period.

The gentleman at the door made us pay a cover charge because there was a band playing that night. Not a big deal. It was only $5.00/person however it was a few minute before 7:00 pm when we walked through the doors. The band wasn't starting until 9:30!!  When we explained weren't staying past the first period, he said no exception...

The food was below average. It was wing night. Yeah!!  No...  They were TINY tiny wing dings.  It was very busy and our waitress seemed like she was in the weeds. She had tables in the very back and tables in the very front. Kudos to her because she was still friendly and pleasant (I wish I remembered her name...)

This place recently reopened as R Pub, and the food is great, just like how it used to be.  They have a great bar and many games and pool tables.  It has the good old atmosphere of a great neighborhood bar.  Not to mention, they have a great big dance floor for when the DJ starts to play.

Well, what can one truly say about bar food?  Here, the food has generally been good.  Good enough, as we tend to say.  They changed from full size wings to half size wings, good but not the same and hope they tell the customers that, they are not full size wings.
But, the half pound burger.....at $6.95 with no fries or side...and not that big in reality...not worth the order due to pricing vs amount of food.  It was flavorful due to the grill but overcooked as well.
So, sure, when we all get together and want a local place to socialize, this is a spot to visit.  Not our first choice though but, nice inside and good enough!
