Yeah this is not flavorful food. It's fresh, I'll give them that- but flavor they lack. And the lackluster greeting and the fact that they refused to give me a cup of water lost them another star.
I got a beef and broccoli lunch. Out the door it was just shy $6. You only get the fish and some rice, no soup or egg roll. That's ok, because usually they taste pretty bad. As a kid in Brooklyn I was was spoiled by the taste of delicious crispy hand made egg rolls. I have never found them again...
Regardless the "pork fried rice" had no flavor - and almost nothing mixed in! Seriously, sprinkle some veggies or egg in there! How much could it affect your bottom line?
The beef and broccoli tasted ok, but it was just ok. Nothing to write home about. Â I recommend white rice if you order here. I spied homemade iced tea in the cooler, but I didn't try it. Usually that's pretty good in a Chinese restaurant.
The only thing I agree with the other reviewer in is that the food wasn't oily it greasy. Â The broccoli wad crisp and fresh, and the beef was cooked well but not over-cooked.
This IS the kind of "Chinese" (Americanized version) I like! Â Hunan Chicken with Pork Fried Rice! Â Made-to-order! Â Open Kitchen, bunch of Young Chefs! Â Incredible Flavorful, Juicy, Tender Chicken, simple Spice, Simple Sauce, NOT oily... GREAT Flavor!
Bok Choy! Â When the Girl at the Counter told me I got Bok Choy in my Dish I was too happy!!! Â Then I told her what I did and did not want... I forgot to ask for it to be lighter on the oil... I did not have to request it with less oil, they made it very well!!! Â
Walk up and Order, she will bring it to you!
Someone told me this is New York Style Chinese...? Â I have never been to NY so I do not know what it means except I like this style! Â 5 stars Compared to Similar Chinese is how I rate this place as 5 stars, instead of comparing it to the Best Thai, Korean or Vietnamese though it beats a few in all those categories!
