I went here with a bunch of co workers and our significant others. It was....mediocre. And that's being nice. Our waitress was very slow. It took a long time to bring us drinks and then she brought out dirty plates for our appetizers. Strike one. We got the nachos and buffalo chicken tenders which were tasty so I will give them that. I ordered the tilapia scampi. I didn't keep track of what anybody else ordered. It was supposed to come with angel hair but I asked them if they could substitute linguini instead. She said that would be fine. She came back a little while later and told me they were out of linguini. That's fine! I asked if she could then use spaghetti. She told me they don't use spaghetti. It's only penne or angel hair. I told them penne would be fine. Not even a minute later all out food came out!!!! Which means they had already cooked my food and were hoping I would accept penne. Strike two. My tilapia was very mushy and basically just put on top of buttered penne. It was not in a "white wine sauce" like it said in the menu. We asked everybody else what they thought of their food and they basically all gave looks like "we can't believe we are paying for this". Once we were done eating we figured out the bill and paid. After that, the waitress never came back! She never asked if we wanted water or maybe would be there for awhile. She assumed we were done and left us there with dried up water glasses. It took a hour for another waitress to even come over and grab the signed receipt. The place looked nice and I had high hopes for it since its in Southbury but I won't go back. It was overpriced and for no real reason.
Review Source:5 of us went here for dinner - we did not have a reservation but were seated within 10 minutes. Awesome.
The waitress took our drink order and returned with our drinks. It was awhile before she returned for our food order, by which time we'd decided to order appetizers and dinners all at once.
From the time we ordered until the time our dinner arrived, it was about an hour and a half. There were other tables of 6 near us, seated after us, yet had their drinks meals and desserts before we even got our dinner.
Our empty glasses, appetizer dishes and utensils were not cleared until our food arrived, which made conversation uncomfortable as items accumulated.
I had a Philly Cheesesteak, which arrived barely warm enough to eat. It was a few little pieces of meat, mushrooms & onions. Would have been a delicious sandwich -but the filling was very skimpy. Â A friend had fried fish, which arrived ice cold (after an hour + half wait??) We sent it back.
Great menu + reasonable prices--- but the food could have been so much better.
Atmosphere: dark, comfy, ecclectic (each table had different style salt/pepper shakers, utensils & cloth napkins were mismatched, etc.) .
If the staff was friendly and our waitress smiled occasionally and looked like she wanted to be there, it would have made a huge difference. But they weren't that friendly, & our waitress was easily confused and didn't really seem to know why she was there.
It has a lot of potential to be a cool place...it just isn't. Â Overall, the food was just ok if you don't have high expectations, but the service was downright awful, so for that reason alone I do not recommend it.
Met a friend here for dinner. Â And it was...underwhelming to say the least. Â I ordered a chicken sandwich with pesto, roasted red peppers and some form of cheese. Â The bread was soggy. Â The chicken was not very crispy. Â
The only good thing was the fries. Â They were cooked perfectly.
Beer menu was lacking. Â Would not return to this place.
