Title: "Lacks Value"
Yesterday I ate at this place because I was tagging along with coworkers who recommended it. At first glance it seems like it's best suited for watching sports games and drinking alcohol. There are TVs lining every wall and even above the urinals. If you're coming here just to drink, it's possibly worth the trip. However, as a restaurant it severely lacks value.
FOOD: I was originally thinking of getting wings until I saw the prices. They want $9.99 for 10 medium-sized wings that aren't anything special. One of my coworkers ordered them and didn't finish the serving, so she let me eat the last two. Frankly, they weren't impressive at all. They weren't bad, but they don't stand out compared to other chicken wings. I ordered the bleu cheese burger done medium, and it came out exactly that way. The irritating thing about their burgers is that they charge $.99 extra if you want to substitute their "kettle chips" with fries, whereas every other place on the planet charging $9.99 for a burger includes fries as the default.
SERVICE: Our server, Sara, admitted she was knew, so we didn't hold her slowness against her. At least she was pleasant. However, having seen other reviews about the lacking speed of service here, I hope Sara doesn't become complacent with that as a norm.
OVERVIEW: On the whole Recovery Sports Grill isn't anything special. Its food is average pub fare with mediocre to acceptable service, and it is truly amazing how poorly this place builds value in an area of upstate NY that is so densely populated with restaurants that offer more for the same money.
Been here a few times now. Service is always good and happy hour prices are a big draw.
The chicken tenders are better than any other restaurant around. But they seem to have issues with the nachos always coming out warm or with the wrong ingredients.
Tons of TV with individual table speakers. Shuffleboard addition is nice too.
The bartenders do not know how to pour a pint. They were shorting pours. The waitstaff is too busy. Service took too long.
Won-tons burnt and chicken tenders over cooked. They seemed to be understaffed. I realize the economy is tough but a Friday night and 5 waitresses for an entire restaurant is ridiculous.
