Taking $30 and setting it on fire would have been a better use of my money. We took 2 bites of the pizza and threw the whole thing away. Lets just say... It is not good. Soggy, flavorless, wimpy crust. Skimpy toppings, and FAR too expensive. Won't be ordering from here again. Save your money and order Dominos.
Review Source:Its hard to find good food in Big Bear. There I said it!! You are much better off staying somewhere that has a kitchen and making your own food or better yet bring some frozen lasagna or something if you don't feel like cooking.
The one nice thing about Red Baron Pizza is that they deliver even if it took over an hour. Anyway we had a small BBQ pizza, a large cheese pizza and an order of wings. I would say it was similar to cafeteria food, but my kids school food is much more appetizing than this. The pizza was chewy and mealy , super bland and the wings were so dry and tasteless. DiGornio would have been heavenly compared to this. Sometimes if I get crappy food, I try to make myself eat it because I don't want to waste money, but my stomach was disgusted by this ingestion. Did I mention these 3 items added up to $50? My kids hardly touched it.
I learned my lesson for Big Bear: Pack some ready made meals and eat in your cozy cabin.
Rented a lake house for the weekend and decided to order dinner on the first night. Â Customer service was good, so no complaints there. The pizza, however, was terrible. I think it's the worst pizza I've ever had. Bland sauce, way too much cheese, and the crust did not taste good either. I am fairly picky when it comes to pizza since I'm from a town rich with Italians, but this was barely edible. I scraped off all the cheese and ate only one piece. The wings weren't good either. We stopped at Village Pizza last time we were up and it was pretty good! Definitely recommend Village over Red Baron.
Review Source:I went up to Big Bear over the weekend and we were shopping around pizza shops to get the best deal. I chose Red Baron because it was either them or Little Cesars. It came out to $56 for 2 16" pizzas that would take 1 hour and half to get delivered. My cabinmates were upset and told me to cancel the order. I called within 30 seconds to cancel my order. I explained to the girl that I just got off the phone with her and that I would like to cancel my order. She huffed and said, 'But we already ran the transaction!'. I asked her if it could be cancelled. She put me on hold to get the manager. The manager got on the phone, I explained my request and was told it would be reversed. This was on Friday, February 22. When I returned to civilization and checked my transactions on Monday, February 25, I saw that there was no credit from Red Baron's. I called them back immediately and was then notified that it would take 3 business days for the funds to return. It is now Wed, February 27, and no credit. I know this is BS because we went to Denny's on our way on Sunday. The charge ran $40 over the actual bill. When I pointed it out they immediately reversed the transaction. So although they overcharged me the first time, they immediately rectified it, and I didn't have to wait 3 business days. Stay classy Red Baron!
Review Source:Great pizza, but some of the poorest organization that I have ever witnessed in a restaurant! Â Although it was a busy night, there were no bus boys to prepare the tables (the owner and waitresses had to do it) and the organization in the lobby (taking the list of people waiting to be seated and actually seating people) bordered on chaos. We arrived at 6:20 and by the time we were seated and our order was taken (about an hour and 15 minutes later), they had completely run out of salad and all they were able to serve was "just pizza". Â Someone must have run out to the store during that time as they announced about 30 minutes later that "they had salad" again.
I would eat there again, but probably just for take out.
Terrible experience and we didn't even eat any food. Stood at the counter waiting to place an order for a pizza (that would have taken 2 minutes to take from us) while 3 or 4 employees walked past us multiple times and didn't even acknowledge us. Went down the street to Domino's and were greeted within 30 seconds of walking in the door.
Review Source:I've had Red Baron pizza a couple of times and both times it was just ok. Â The crust is thick and chewy, somewhat sweet. Recently I ordered during an intense winter storm, and was super impressed that they got the pizza out to us in about half an hour, even less time than they predicted.
Service is good, the pizza's just nothing to write home about.
Full Bar, video games hidden behind a wall/big screen tv.
Love coming here with the kids when in town. Everyone has fun. There are a handfull of video games to keep the young ones busy. Big screen tv & bar, perfect for hanging out to watch the games.
Bathrooms are clean, the hosts & employees are friendly. I like to walk here from The Worldmarke Resort just a couple blocks away.
Asked some locals for the best place for pizza in Big Bear, and they all told me Red Baron. Â From the pizza I've tried up here, I think they're right. Â Cute, casual, family friendly atmosphere, too. Â They do deliver, but on busy nights/weekends, the wait time can be really long. Â If you're hungry (which you usually are when you order a pizza) you can save a lot of time by just picking it up yourself.
Review Source:I'm appalled that a place this bad could stay in business.
I called for delivery around 7pm for a simple pizza. Just after 8pm, I called them again to make sure my order wasn't forgotten. The person on the phone told me that it was on its way here to me. Ok. 8:30pm - still not here. Called them again and got the same response: it's on the road. Ok, I'm assuming it'll get here soon then. Not the case. It doesn't get here until 9:10pm. Holy crap, how is this acceptable?. Once we open the box, we discover that it's cold and it has the wrong toppings. What the hell?
The only positive is that it didn't give us food poisoning. Yippee. Never ordering from here again and telling everyone else to avoid this place too.
Don't order from this place if you want edible pizza within a reasonable time frame.
The pizza was bland and I'm not that picky when it comes to pizza. I chose the regular crust, but upon seeing others with the thick crust, that probably would have been a better way to go. They do not have many games for the kids. They did have a claw candy machine that had melted expired candy. The service was slow and it was not even crowded.
This review is for the Red Baron located at the 42000 block of Big Bear Blvd with a cross street of China Garden Road. There is another one located at 42173. Apparently there are two Red Barons within the same proximity.
Called them just before 9pm on a Saturday night and they were one of the few pizza places open and serving - good job! Â The pizza was clean and fresh tasting. Â The dough was fresh and kinda like a soda bread style on the thick crust - very good; not great, but better than most. Â The cheese was fresh. Â The veggies were fresh. Â The mushrooms were big and cut thick - very nice. Â Overall a good pizza. Â Not a great value at almost $20 for a medium, 4 topping though.
Review Source:Red Baron Pizza.
I have been going here since it was a tiny hole in the wall. Now that it a bigger hole in the wall, I love it even more! Full bar and pretty dang good pizza, what a combination! Small game room in the back for the kiddies and a big screen TV in the main dining area. I have always had service with a smile when coming here. One tiny complaint. I took my family here on a Saturday night and was reminded by the waitress that they close at 9:30.....9:30!!! On a Saturday night??? Still trying to get a grasp on that one. Anyway, Red Baron, we'll continue to patronize your establishment EVERY SINGLE TIME WE VISIT!!
Horrible  I would choose another pizza place. The bread sticks were so hard , the pizza  was terrible .Ordered the California pizza  which comes with avacado.  They severd unripe avacado on the pizza making it unedible even the  drinks were terrible.  The sevrice was so bad we waited over an hour for our order the waitress was rude and snotty . Shes the one that brought out the bad food not us !  LoL  The place was a joke . Dont waste your time or money !  we  left to the  "No Name pizza" n which the pizza was excellent , we should of went there in the frist place..  Beware .
Review Source:Visited the Big Bear Lake recently and stopped in to watch the game and have some pizza. Â I am pretty picky about pizza but this place had pretty great pizza, everything is homemade, the dough, the sauce and they hand grate their cheese. Â And if that wasn't enough the staff is very helpful and courteous.
Plus they have Stella Artois on tap !!! Â Best pizza in Big Bear for sure.
Stop in and give them your business - Definitely Worthy !!!
ZZZZZZ BESSSssst pizza on ZZZZZZZZ MOUNtain. I love pizza and am a picky pizz lover and trust me this is the best on the mountain. The service is great, staff is friendly and the place is CLEAN. I also go by how clean the bathrooms are, not that I eat in there but it shows me how clean the place is altogether.
Review Source:Nasty nast! Visiting from San Diego to snowboard....just order
ed delivery, first time writing a review because this place was so nasty, I had to tell others! The chicken tortilla soup must have been straight out of Campbell's can. The salad was nasty and the dressings are all packets! They told me the wings were fried and crispy.....nope- fatty and pasty! The pizza tasted like frozen food section pizza! I feel bad writing this but the whole house was in agreement! Hopefully it was just a bad night for them!
Busy Friday night but the young waitress was great and the pizza, salads were yummy too.
Beer was cold and service was fast even with a full place. Waited only 10 minutes to get a table. Kids liked games and dodgers were on TV so this was a great start to our weekend.  Then late Saturday night my family ordered more pizza delivery and it was really good again  and nice guy put up with some loud adults who had been drinking on lake all day.
For Big Bear its awesome!
Waited 15 minutes before we were served after seated. Â Finally when we were served it took another 7 minutes to get our drinks. Â There were only 4 other tables with 8 total people. Â They had no problem playing the jukebox and pretending they were on Americas Got Talent though! Â Finally had our order taken, Larger Pizza and Ravioli dish. Â I didn't expect much and that's exactly what we received! Â Very average, not "over the top". Â Wasn't expecting that by the sight's of the cooks, kids with dirty hair and no hair nets, both looked very dirty. Â
Another one I have to check off my list of places in Big Bear to eat!
Around 6pm on a Saturday, totally understaffed. Bummer. The one guy in charge of serving the food, collecting the money and working the bar was young and surprisingly happy about his job despite being left in charge of almost too much to handle.
We got a large pizza with tomato, chicken, avocado and bacon. That was one of the BEST slices of pizza I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The kid came around and asked how the pizza was with sincere concern...we loved it! The only complaint I have is that I seriously believe he forgot to add the rum to my rum & coke. Either that or he added so little that the coke overpowered it. It wasn't good, but I'm not going to complain about my drink on a chaotic night at Red Baron.
Needless to say, that kid was tipped well and all six of us left full and happy. I will keep Red Baron in mind for our next trip to Big Bear.
We stumbled upon the Red Baron on the way back to our cabin one night. Â It was a small place but the bar had a really cool feeling to it. Â We had a few beers and some pizza bread one night, it was delicious. Â They have a full bar and from what I could tell they make the drinks pretty strong. Â Everyone that worked there was very friendly and they are willing to stay open as late as they had to if there are still people there. Â We did not get a pizza, but the ones we saw coming out of the kitchen looked really good. Â Friday night there was some pretty entertaining karaoke going on, nothing to obnoxious. Â They do have a small arcade for the kids and some nice TVs for watching sports. Â
We ended up going back both nights we were in Big Bear and the Red Baron was one of our favorite spots.
When you go to Big Bear, they have Dominos Pizza, but why would you support a corporation when you can go local and support Red Baron Pizza?
It's decent pizza, good prices, and usually I either eat in or take out. Â A variety of toppings and items such as fries too! Â Has a cute little arcade and TVs inside. Â Nothing goes better than snow and pizza.
Woohoo! As good as it gets! at least when your ordering a Pizza 6,772 ft feet above sea level. I have been coming here for years and it has always been consistently good pizza and service. They recently remodeled the place and expanded. I like what they have done and they now have a bar area and a big flat screen TV. The place was packed but they cleared a table for us and we were seated quickly.
We ordered a pesto based pizza with 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 pineapple and all spinach (see photo), it was excellent and the kids really enjoyed it after snowboarding all morning.
Like I said ,I have been coming here for years and I hope to be coming back for many more : )
Worst. Pizza. Ever.
We were up in Big Bear for a relaxing weekend getaway. One night, we get the hankering for some pizza so we ask around and everyone recommends Red Baron for delivery. We grab a to-go menu and place an order. Price seemed pretty steep, about $40 for 3 medium (or at least, thats what size they LOOKED like) 2 topping pizza's. We're told it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to get our pizza. Hmm.. okay.
An hour comes and goes, still no pizza. We don't want to be obnoxious, so we wait another fifteen minutes before we call back to get the status on our food. We call and it seems like no one has any clue what we're talking about, as if they lost our order. So, they tell us they're getting everything ready and our pizza should be on it's way soon. Another 45 minutes go by, still no pizza. We call back and they say the driver just left and  "he has a lot of deliveries on his route."
Another half hour later, we finally get our pizzas. We're ecstatic and starving. You can imagine our disappointment when we open up the three, dinky pizza's we just waited over 2 hours for to find they are cold, the cheese is congealed and rubbery and the crust doesn't feel or taste completely cooked through.
I'm not a certified, award-winning food critic or anything, but this pizza simply did not cut it. It should never have been put in the box. It just failed to live up to what I believe pizza should be. All in all, the WORST pizza delivery experience of my life, but I guess if you live in Big Bear, you don't really have too many options...
This place used to be VERY crowded which was always a factor when ordering pizza to go.
It just wasn't convenient and last time I checked convenience is one of the main reason for getting pizza to begin with!
But there's a reason why they're so busy, their pizza rocks!
Recently they expanded the restaurant into the unit next door and now have a much larger restaurant, full bar, 62" HD big screen, darts and an extra spot for ordering pizza to go.
It's a dream come true really and that gets them 5 stars...
P.s. they're hiding behind blockbuster.
