The service is bad (unless you know know a bartender). It's always full of bros and underagers. Everytime I've been here (many more times than I would like because I have friends who love it) someone has puked on the stairs or in front of the bathrooms.
I would recommend it if you want to get shitfaced on megamugs (they are pretty mega and cheap) and dance but otherwise? Nope.
If you are looking for good service and food do not come here. It's an ok place if you are finishing up a night of drinking, but expect to have issues even getting a drink. The food is mediocre at best and you will wait an hour just to get a sandwich, which is normally wrong or missing half the toppings you ordered. Five of us went for dinner, the wings had no sauce on them, burgers were over cooked. The various toppings we ordered were missing and didn't even bring us silverware and napkins after asking 3 times. However with all of that said.. if you are out on a bar crawl none of that matters.
Review Source:Red Brick was the first place I ever ate in Athens when I went to visit OU in 2004! You will always run into friends when you are at Red Brick.
When I was there this past weekend for Homecoming 2012 the bar tender told me that they got rid of their menu and no longer serve food, full bar only. Even though their food may not have been the best, they had a killer teriyaki burger that was always my go-to meal while during an OSU game.
Best vibe! Best place to get a MEGAMUG!
Mega mugs of cheap beer is about the only thing Red Brick has going for it. Â The food here sucks and the drinks are weak. Â I've been drug here by friends for karaoke on Wednesday nights but it's not the kind of place I would willingly visit. Â It seems to be popular among the underage crowd though.
Review Source:If you want a giant beer for less than five bucks, Red Brick is your place. I've never had the food and the other patrons are questionable at best, but pretty standard for Athens. I will say that if you can get a seat, it makes for excellent people-watching. Also, as of last weekend, there's a bubble machine. What more could you possibly need?
Review Source:Don't bother with eating here. My experiences have been hit or miss, but mostly miss. I find the food overpriced for what they offer for just about everything on the menu. I will say, that their daily specials on food are usually decent but on any other day, I would choose to eat elsewhere just from taking price into account.
The food itself is mediocre. The burgers can be decent, but average. The most frustrating part is that their wings. They are just aren't good. The sauces leave much to be desired and the wings themselves are very meh. If you're really craving wings, just go to BW3's, even though the service there can week and wings expensive as well (different subject, though).
In my experience the curly fries are very generic, and more times than not I've received a bunch of tiny fragments of what was a curly fry, rather than the nice sized, curled up potatoes that you would imagine. The onion rings are to be avoided. They're bland, cold, and usually seem like they've been left in the deep fryer way too long.
As for getting a drink here, Red Brick isn't bad. The beer selection on tap is pretty good and the prices aren't too high. It's a good place to come and grab a beer. On most nights, if you're looking for a pretty sloppy time, come on in. I won't lie when I say that I've had a blast doing Karaoke on Wednesdays or dancing on the weekends, but the novelty has worn off for the most part.
It also takes forever to get out of there when it's packed, as the bar makes a bottleneck at the entrance.... But that's not really any fault of the owners / management.
Ok, here is another bar review for the little town of Athens. Â I've stepped out of always going to the same bar and have been trying others. Â My friends and I have a new thing where we go to Red Brick around 11 or so. Â At this time at night, the dining area turns into a dance floor. Â I've heard people call it 'the new nightclub in Athens'. Â It gets pretty packed so I suggest going down to the basement first to get a drink (you'll get served quicker then at the upstairs bar) then head on up to dance the night away. Â Fair warning: Â it gets pretty hot in there so make sure to wear something that you can stay cool in. Â Also, the dj has like 10 songs on his playlist so don't expect him to have a song when you go to request one. Â The staff is not friendly what-so-ever so be prepared to deal with them.
Review Source:Although the main reason I dislike this business is that my scummy former landlord (slumlord) now owns it, it is a business I did not like even before he bought it. I ate here twice because my husband's friend loves it, and both times I was disappointed. The food was very typical sports bar food, but not done very well. I also thought the prices were high for what you got. The crowd at night are typical college jocks and sorority types, not my scene! (If I had one...) If you want a similar feel to the Redbrick, just cross the street to the Pub, for a much more relaxed feel, and much tastier bar food.
