  This is the best country western club in california. Patricia will be teaching dance lessons starting sat sept 8 2012 and every sat.
  The wagon wheel went out of business. Lots of young hot babes and cougers looking to meet guys who are good looking and willing to spend money.
  If you are under employed between jobs or a loser in general you can still enjoy yourself but do not expect to get lucky

  This past Saturday was the second time I have been to the Renegade in the last month.  Hands down, just a good ole' fashion "Honky Tonk," just off the beaten path in Lakeside. Very diverse crowd, but from my experience, the people were friendly, staff was attentive, drinks were strong, and of course you can't beat the LIVE MUSIC.  Reminds me of what we called "Red Dirt Country" in Austin.  In my opinion, surpasses the sugar-coated, fake, wanna be "Incahoots" scene.

  I've been to a few of the "Country" bars around San Diego and I enjoyed them because it plays the music I enjoy and generally the people are friendly. Let me be honest though, most of those bars are country only because they are dressed up that way just like most of the people that are in them.
  The Renegade, however, is as country as San Diego will ever see. I went to high school in Lakeside so I was aware of this invisible line that separates Lakeside and the people from the rest of SD. Still, I was surprised by how different this place was.
  I liked it, I went back many times and I felt comfortable there. This is not a preppy bar disguised with a cowboy hat. Here, you may be able to see 2 mustangs side by side in the parking lot. The one like I had was raring with 265 hp, the one next to me had 1hp and was delivering road apples to the locals.
  Good bar, good service and good distance from the concrete.

  Best redneck/hillbilly bar in San Diego county. It's a ways out there, but the atmosphere doesn't get any better than this. Incahoots is nice if you're an Urban Cowboy, but if you want to hang out in a big country establishment on the edge of the San Diego metropolitian area, the Renegade is the spot.

  Tired of boring scenester bars?  Want something different from the typical dj's playing half assed remixes of  Feist songs for coked out hipsters who think they're too cool for school?  Want to go somewhere that's real, cheap, and maybe a little dangerous?
  
  Try the Renegade Bar in Lakeside/El Cajon.  I happened upon it because I make their merchandise that they sell (T-shirts, hats, etc) and I decided to go check the place out one Friday night since the owner offered me free drinks.  
  
  On Friday and Sat nights there's a live band from around 9 to midnight, pure old school shitkicker country played by real old timers, not kids who grew up in Poway pretending.  I can't remember any of the band names (I've been to the bar 2 or 3 times now) but they are always good.  The place was PACKED when I rolled in at 9:30.  Wild mix of people, from real old folks, to cowboys, bikers, to bros wearing Skin Inudstries shirts and their gf's with big fake tans and bigger boobs.  If you're even close to a scenester type looking kid, you will STICK OUT like a sore thumb.  I sure did, and I knew it when I got called a "Fag" within 10 minutes of bieng there.  Yesss!  I love it.  
  
  Ok, back to the bar itself.  Typical sort of Western Country type dive bar, pool tables, (always taken) , dance floor (always packed with line dancing, yes LINE DANCING!) , outdoor patio for smokers and some girl was wandering around serving homemade jello shots off a plate! Yesss!  A lot of bras hanging from the ceiling from past wild nights.  Drinks are strong and cheap (I think mixed drinks are 4.00) and it didn't take forever to get a round.
  
  So then I sat down on a stool, which apparently was claimed already by a huge cowboy in a Brooks and Dunn shirt, who stopped dancing and ran across the room to tell me "Get the fuck outta my seat, boy."  And then proceeded to crack his knuckles and stare at me as if he hoped I was crazy enough to try and fight him.  I wasn't.  Haha where else can you go on a Friday night and almost get beat up by white trash for no reason?  Fuckin exciting.  I hung out and watched the band for an hour and had a few more, then it was time to go, but no before i was outside with my smoking friend and an old lady acosted me.  White hair, reaked of Gin, and she grabbed my crotch and slurred at me "If I was a few years younger I'd know what to do with you" and looked at the lady I was with and said, "And I wouldnt give a fuck who ya came here with"....I can't make this stuff up!
  
  Bottom line:  I love The Renegade, its dirty, white trash, semi dangerous for someone like myself to go to, and amazing.
