It was our first visit to this eatery. Overall we had a good meal. Ordered the Calamari 45 which was one of the best that I've had in very long time. Very tender and cooked just right with a little bit of heat from the cherry peppers. Our server, Wes, was very attentive and our meal was served quickly but not rushed. Â My husband ordered the Veal Parm. which was a generous portion. I order an item off the Chef's special menu for the night, Tuna Alana which was to be served med.rare. unfortunately it was overcooked. Wes was more than happy to return it for a med. rare piece of tuna. My second piece was perfectly cooked. Â Overall we had a good experience and will be returning to try other items off a very large menu.
Review Source:My family and I tried this restaurant because we have driven by it so many times. Â Upon walking in my children asked "what is that gross smell?". It smelled a bit like stagnant water but we headed to our table anyways. Â We sat in the back room which is so outdated and dingy looking. Â We got the crab cakes to start and the best part was the dipping sauce. Â The cakes had no crust and were very mushy. Â It took a very long time for our meals to arrive. Â My fish was so over cooked and the steak tips had pieces of burnt rosemary on them. Â My daughter complained about how dry her chicken fingers were as well. Â Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed and will not return.
Review Source:Went to this restaurant twice in one weekend, once for a baby shower luncheon I helped organize and once for dinner with my family because I liked the restaurant enough to come back. Haven't been here in a long time since it was called Speroni's in the old days. For the baby shower luncheon - they were really easy to work with in advance, and the service was excellent - very friendly and nice. We had a group of 20 people and everyone enjoyed the space that we had. We were free to decorate how we liked and they were great about the cake cutting (they provide ice cream with the cake you bring), and the service. Had the steak tips and they were very good (probably slightly overdone, but I think they would have been better if ordered at dinner instead of at a function). The party also really liked the chicken and broccoli dish. The second time I brought back my family for dinner - again the service was very good, and they were kid-friendly with crayons for the children. I had the prime rib and for under $20 it was an excellent value and delicious. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely come back. Not sure what the previous review means about the place feeling like a cafeteria - the main dining room I sat in had a mix of booths and tables and definitely felt like a casual, comfortable restaurant. The location is a one-story, white building at the intersection of 109 and 126.
Review Source:When you walk into the main dining room, it feels very much like a cafeteria, all the tables are lined up the same way and just doesn't feel like a restaurant. The menu is an eclectic mix of flavors, overall it was okay. The menu consisted of a lot of seafood offerings which was exciting as in the Milford area you don't find a lot of restaurants offering a variety of fresh seafood dishes. For an appetizer we ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the Paul's Shrimp Mozambique, but were okay but were both bland, they would have been much nicer with a bit of salt. For a main course I ordered the Niro Seafood Melange which was one of the signature dishes.. It was flavorful and nicely done, except the shrimp were overcooked and the scallops very undercooked. For desert we ordered the cobbler and the bread pudding, the cobbler was very nicely done but the bread pudding was practically raw in the middle, otherwise it would have been absolutely delightful.
Lastly was the service, I wont go into details on this to spare the feelings of our server, but it annoys me greatly at dinner when waiters are oblivious to the needs of the customers at the table.
I would go back here again, but would like to see the restaurant focusing more on local ingredients and flavors, supporting local farms and purveyors.
P.S Turn the rows of tables in the dining room at angles or something so it doesn't feel like a giant high school cafeteria!
This place is so good. It looks small and unassuming, but you have to check it out.
I ordered the seafood cioppino. It was delicious. The seafood was fresh and the portion was very generous. I only had room for the seafood. There was so much pasta underneath it.
The desserts are to die for...and you will probably slip into a diabetic coma afterward. They have huge carrot cake slices, ice cream pies, creme brulee. I choose the molten lava cake. You can tell they they actually made this cake from scratch. I could discern the cocoa powder inn the cake. It was delicious.
You have to try this place, if only for the fantastic desserts!
Great outdoor seating area in summer, but enough about the atmosphere, what about the food?
Almost zero vegetarian offerings, but the beet salad is very good. Fish and chips also good, for fish eaters. (not related, but my dog is sleeping and growling at her dream) anyway, if they were concerned about local produce or meats, I think it could be a real hit.
Decent beer menu, would like to see something from Jacks Abbey in Framingham on the menu.
We frequent the 45. It is one of our favorites. Last night, however, several parties were seated before us that had arrived after us. They said it is because they had reservations.... But they don't take reservations for small groups. Very upsetting. Then our server was taking care of a large party so we had to wait. We had plans to go someplace after therefore arrived early. Due to these issues we were there for 2.5 hours and missed our other appointment.
Review Source:Love Restaurant 45. Come here often for date night with the hubby. Definitely enjoy their Cosmos. Their bartender is kick-ass. They have different specials every time we go, so we always order off that.
Also, we have used 45 for their function room. They have a great menu selection and the waitstaff  are really helpful.
nice place, i'm always a little wary of LARGE restaurants and this place could seat 250 easy but the food was good. Large portions, reasonable prices, well prepared and cooked - my one critique would be that everything we tried was extremely rich and the chefs don't truly understand the meaning of subtlety but overall quite nice. I would highly recommend the thai shrimp nachos, really something to write home about. additional critiques would include the fact that the hostess told me there was no wait [and wouldn't take a res for 2] and when I arrived 10 minutes later there was a 35 minute wait which she told me had all just arrived...thanks but I'm not buying it. Luckily my girlfriend is patient and cooler heads prevailed. Also, the wait staff we very friendly but clearly understaffed. Service was slow and my bill had 2 additional items that we did not order. Overall, good but not great. Worth a second trip but that will determine whether this becomes a staple or just a yelp review in the wind...
Review Source:Let me get this out of the way - Adding andouille sausage to Chicken Cacciatore does not make something a Jambalaya. Â At least not in my Cajun/Nawlins lovin book.
The meal was good - but I was expecting Jambalaya not Cacciatore w a little bit of a andouille-ish sausage.
The bride had the filet maddie which was very tasty. Â
We split the special calamari and it was very good. Â Loved the hot peppers. Â More tentacles than usual which would be great if that's your thing.
We've also used 45 for catering - the Chicken Marie is anfavorite of many in our family - Along with the seafood stuffed mushrooms. Â They're not cheap but very tasty. Â This review would be a 3.5 but the Chicken Marie alone bumps it up.
I came here for a baby shower and that experience is what this review is based on. We got there at noon on a Saturday and parking was quick and easy. The private room was a good size, but I'm not sure if our party had too many for the room or if cramped and oddly set up is the norm. We had about 70 and there was little breathing room and it seemed that the guests and waitstaff were constantly in each others ways. The appetizers were set up on a small table in the back of the room... Very awkward to access and bumping into people left and right was the theme for the event. The spinach and artichoke dip and chips were delish, the cheese and crackers standard and stuffed mushroom ok. Our plated meal choices were stuffed shrimp, steak tips, angel hair with pomodoro or chicken masala topped with roasted reds, spinach and cheese. The shrimp was tough and overly stuffed. The chicken was tasty. The angel hair was a good portion. No one at our table had the steak. Portions were a good size. The waitstaff seemed to be a constant struggle. Either they got orders incorrectly, dropped stuff and were constantly in the way. They weren't particularly friendly and when the children in our party asked for reasonable modifications (i.e.I won't eat the mashed potatoes, so you can leave it off) to their meals, they were told no curtly. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, but if you decide to book a private room, be mindful of the room set up to ensure you have room to mix and mingle.
Review Source:We went to Restaurant 45 for lunch on a mid Saturday afternoon and it was nice, relaxing dining experience. Â Service was friendly and prompt. Â They have a pretty large menu, a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Â We started out with the stuffed mushrooms, which were huge, plentiful, and good. Â I also tried the lobster and corn chowder, which was delish. Â My dining companions both had the veal parm, which was made to order, you could actually hear them pounding the veal in the kitchen; portions were large, 2 pieces veal with plenty of pasta. Â The prices were fair. Â They don't hurry you out so you sit and enjoy your meal and linger after with drink.
I would definitely recommend!
We stopped in here on a whim after a morning of house hunting in Medway. Â This place was an excellent find. Cozy, casual, attractive setting. Creative cuisine with healthy options and good, pleasant, attentive wait staff. Now we did come later in the afternoon so there were plenty of open tables and less distractions.
Bread was a little on the stale side, but the main courses made up where that lacked.  We each had one lunch entree- for the man of the house: Ravioli Daniel with chicken (thanks previous Yelpers!), a delectable plate of sautéed spinach, chicken and ravioli in a not-too heavy goat cheese cream sauce. For the lady: a mesclun salad sans walnut, a healthy and fresh combination of greens, grapes, Gorgonzola and gPita crisps. According to her "healthy, yet satisfying".
We'd come back, especially of we end up with a house here :-)
Not bad. but the portions were out of control. I had the Sashimi and was very disappointed. 3 little slivers of Tuna do not an appetizer make!! Same price as the Outback (uck) but at least they give you 6 slices , of about the same exact fish, at Outback... The tomato basil. with prosciutto wrapped Mozzarella was HUGE and very good! I'm not a mushroom fan, but someone insisted I try, and they were AWESOME! We had a 6head party, and our service was on point, but nothing worth raving about. Dessert was great, we all shared a few bites each of the Key lime Raspberry Mascarpone Cake! So yummy, and not as filling as Cheesecake.
Review Source:I have never had a meal here I didn't enjoy. Their mesclun salad with chicken is my favorite. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. Â Their bar/lounge is large and well stocked and it is a great place to sit at the bar and have a meal if you are dining alone. I also often use their catering services for office functions and they never disappoint.
Review Source:Took my Mom out for her Birthday, went to "45" after reading the reviews, was not quite sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. We went for lunch fairly early in the afternoon, nice decor, clean. Menu offered a nice selection, at reasonable prices. I had the escarole soup which was soup for the day, nothing spectacular, but good. Ordered personal pizza which was larger than I expected, nice light crust, very fresh veggies, all around good. My Mom had a chicken marsala which she said was very good, she ate every last bite, (She usually does that anyway). Waitress was polite, restaurant filled up quick while we were there, which put a stress on the limited waitstaff. Service was pleasant with some gaps do the shortage of staff. I would have given 5 stars, but as I said, they needed at least on more waitstaff. They also need to have more of a buffer between the kitchen and the dining room as your could hear the hustle and bustle of the kitchen a bit to much. I will visit again.
Review Source:My wife and I pulled into this place's parking lot on our motorcycles and were surprised to see spaces specifically for them. It set a good tone, but the food is another matter. I ordered a New York strip with a side of stuffed shrimp. My wife ordered scrod. My steak was overdone and the shrimp was swimming in an oily butter. My wife's fish was over cooked as well. I am known for my steel stomach - I rarely get sick, but something in this meal did the trick. (I don't get the sense it was food poisoning, but had something to do with the oily shrimp.) So imagine racing home on a motorcycle in gastrointestinal distress. (Don't worry, I made it.) The only thing keeping me from giving it a one was the pleasant waitress we had. I want to think this was a fluke, and for some reason I want to give them another try. Maybe we'll take the car next time.
Review Source:I have been going to this place ever since I was a little kid and the name of it was Speroni's still. It used to be a upscale restaurant with a limited menu, but now with the new owners it has a wider range of things on the menu for a little less than what the price used to be. I can say though that the quality has decreased a little bit. However this is only pertaining to the fact that it is not as elegant as it used to be. The new owners also did some huge expansions to the place to accomidate a bigger bar area and more table seating availability.
Back when it was Speroni's, they mainly did high quality steaks and other meals that were well cooked and tasted great. Since the switch, the quality of the food has not changed that much, but the variety on the menu has. They do a wide variety of things to choose from, whether you are feeling something Italian or a nice juicy steak. I ordered the fish and chips of course which was good, but it was not the best I have ever had.
The staff was very friendly and helpful when we were there. One complaint I have is that our waitress for the first half of our dinner was not very attentive to us and was extremely loud. However the second waitress did make up for the first one, which helped recover her tip too.
We sat in the bar area which is a totally new section of the restaurant. The bar has table and booth seating, bar seating of course and TV's that are mostly visible from anywhere in the room. The old bar area was turned into a private dining room and the rest of the restaurants layout remained mostly the same. But gone are the white tablecloths, the perfectly cooked menu, and that friendly hello we received because we new some of the owners.
Overall I gave this place three stars because it is still a good place, but has lost that elegance that it used to have. The first waitress did not help the rating either. If this still was Speroni's, it would have easily received four stars from me. But good things can't last forever.
Seriously, go here just for the Ravioli Daniel - the goat cheese cream sauce is to die for. I'm always tempted to just ask for a bowl of the sauce and a straw. SO good. The eggplant parm is also very tasty. Portions are very large, and the waitstaff is very friendly.
They also often have special drinks, which are very tasty and creative - I had a pineapple-upside-down-cake martini that was heavenly.
Atmosphere is nice - casual, but a little more special than, say, Macaroni Grill. Lots of families and older folk, but with a good sprinkling of younger couples.
Went for lunch, and we will go back soon. The service to top notch. The prices seem a little high, but when you see what you get,it is very worth it.I had Fried whole belly clams, with onion rings, fries and cold slaw.I rate all of these among the best I have ever had ANYWHERE.(yes anywhere !!!,that includes Legal Seafood,Clancy's,The No Name,Woodman's,or any other "seafood" place in the Boston/Suburbs,or the "Cape").The price was a $ or 3 less than the other places and the taste, preparation and "sides" were far superior. My wife had Shrimp Nacho's,and she loved them.Lots of great food,we will go back soon.
Review Source:Went here for a bridal shower in the back room. It was during the day and the menu choices were 5 different pastas. There was bread on the table and we also got salads.
The food: meh-I've experienced better. I got pasta with broccoli and chicken. I swear the portion of the person directly next to me who ordered the same thing was twice the size. I was starving and very annoyed. It was very oily, but the chicken itself was delicious.
The service: meh- I've experienced better. We had to keep asking the lady for drinks, refills, our credit cards, sweetner. It was really annoying.
They did cut and serve the cake that was brought in so that was nice.
Wouldn't go back, not that I have any reason to since I live about 45 minutes away. Perhaps it was so blah because it was a large group.
The room was nice for a party, although people kept walking through to use the restroom which I am sure was much more awkward for them, especially the men.
We stopped there on a whim after going to an auction at a close by vfw. the place is a perfect combination of casual and fancy. the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated (we went there during the holiday season). great wine list and draft beer list. wait staff was friendly and personable. the jambalaya was to die for! and the stuffed chicken was amazing along with the mashed potatoes. a great amount of food for the price. the bar is near the womens bathroom and was packed. my only complaint is that we didn't visit the bar area and we live in CT and can't eat there all the time. a real gem in a small town.
Review Source:Sigh. Â I finally tried this place after passing it so many times and seeing how full their parking-lot was (which is almost always a good sign!).
I brought a friend here who was visiting from NY and thought this would be a nice dinner out.
We were seated in a side room and forgotten about for at least 15-20min. Â Our waitress, clearly flustered, came over huffing and puffing about how busy it was, and then took our drink order and wandered away... and then didn't return for a REALLY long time. Â We didn't even see her out in the other dining room area. Â Where on earth did she go???
I thought maybe she is overworked and working too many tables at once, but honestly, other tables around us started to fill up with customers and they received both their drinks... AND FOOD, before us. They had a different waiter mind you.
What just happened here?
Out waitress finally graced us with her presence and took out food order. Â The food came out OK. Â I was very unimpressed with the quality for the amount they charged!
We were never even offered refills :( Â
Not sure I'd go back after such a poor experience. Â Maybe we got VERY unlucky? Â Who knows. Â All I know is that it isn't hard to find an Italian restaurant that offers the exact same menu items, for cheaper, and that would probably taste better.
This place needs to work on their staffing issues and prices!
Well...What can I say. The dinner was pretty good. I ordered a steak which was tender and cooked to perfection. The salad was also crisp and tasty. The place itself was very clean and the bathrooms were spotless. I ordered my usual vodka and the waitress was quick and attentive. I plan to make Restaurant 45 one of my frequent stops for dinner and drinks.
Review Source:Same Ole Same Ole. Â Please.....If you want the same ole go to the authentic places. Â The food here is mediocre at best. Â Over seasoned, over done, and exceptionally lame. Â Save your $$$ and go to a chain like Applebee's. Â At least you'll get cordial service!!!
This place thinks it's the best, and is, to its looser clientele (which averages 65-90).
I was the biggest fan of 45 ever, telling everyone who would listen what a fabulous new restaurant had come to the area, but then...45 has gone WAY downhill.Several months ago, I ordered take-out that was simply not edible. Cold pasta diahes, missing french fries on another dish, and extremely strong spinach on a pizza (which was usually outstanding). Yuck. Then I took my out-of-state brother there for dinner, what a mistake. We were seated in that empty, disorganized room in front of the desk to wait "because the bar was full." Finally, we got seated at a table with paper placemats and waited forever to see a waitress, since no one had approached us in the other "waiting area" to take a drink order. The food was mediocre at best  although the waitress never inquired!!
Still a fan, I returned with my daughters before they returned to campus  for 3 disappointing meals out of 3. This strong  fan of 45 will never return to this pathetic, enlanged venue. What a shame!! I don't know how they will fill their new space with sub-par food and service.
OK i am bias ... I worked at Prezo which is owned by the same owners and the menus are the same pretty much.. SO good tho please take my word for it! YES YES people Do live outside 128... ha it sucks out here BUT this place makes me want to stay local and not travel to city or Rt 1 or wherever for good food. This food is great quality and i can legit tell you that they Do make everything FRESH and the food is handled with care. The owners wouldn't have it any other way. The food is a perfect price and its quality. The decor isn't all fancy so def bring kids if you want. The bar area here is quaint and fancyish so if your on a date go to the bar area, red leather booths pretty... So good food i cant even pick a Fav... I looovee carbonara and STUFFED MUSHROOMS (GET THEM -I DON'T EVEN LIKE MUSHROOMS-THats tells you something) The service was great-thanks guys! the drink menu is fun and they always have a drink of the week which is usually festive for the time of year. (love it) the haddock is really good also... A++
Review Source:Without a doubt, hands down the best place to eat in the area. Â yes, you can get better food in the city. Â But Medway ain't the city. Â I've known the owners for years, back when they owned Peppercorn's in Milford, and this place is actually better than their former establishment. Â I've never had a bad meal, ever. Â The waitstaff, at times, leaves something to be desired (usually when they're over the age of 55), but overall, great service, great food, great atmosphere. Â And GREAT pizza.
