Ate here for the first time a week ago with my dad during our annual fishing trip to the area.  The place looked very rustic on the outside and had a nice, clean, lodge feel to it on the inside. Me and my dad had the potato soup with kale, I had a prawn appetizer and salad.  My dad had fettuccine.  He said the pasta was a little boring but loved the soup, as did I and everything I ate.  For the most part it looks like this is a place that cares about their food and puts a little extra into what they serve.  I would be willing to bet this is the BEST food in town.  Being that this is a very small town that might not be saying a lot but when you've been out camping and fishing it's nice to settle and have a delicious meal with good service.

We drive through Burney about once per year on the way to Oregon.  We were in desperate need of a fresh place to eat, and were so happy to find the positive reviews for the Rex Club.

We stopped for lunch on the way through.  The food was fantastic, and the service was even better.  The waitress was super cute and friendly.  My 11 year old is relatively picky, but he LOVED the food.

They also serve what I bet is a great breakfast, and they have a full bar.  Full service.  Check it out.

I found this place on tripadvisor and took a chance based on the reviews and was very glad I did. I hadn't been to Burney for many years so I didn't know what to expect. But my son and I enjoyed our one night stay at Angelina's Cottages very much. The room was cozy and clean and the food in the restaurant was very good. Prices are very reasonable too - $85 for a room with two beds and a kitchen! Plus the people there were super nice and friendly. The place is pretty rustic, though, but, for me, that adds to the experience, especially when the management cares about the place and the guests - as they do at Angelina's Cottages.

Stay here if you come to Burney or Lassen Park, you won't be sorry!

Nice place, the food and service where excellent and the prices are reasonable.
We had the Fruity Chicken Salad and the Meatball Sandwich both where super good. The sandwich came with a huge basket of really good tasting fries too.

Bad meal recently.  Apparently, regular chef was out this night doing a catering job and someone was subbing in the kitchen.  Many things were wrong.

First, salad was wilty, pinkish and dried at the broken ribs - I was told the salad was bagged greens from Sysco due to regular chef being out (yeah, it made no sense to me either).  Waitress got all defensive when I pointed this out to her.  Didn't see much of her after that.

Second, we waited forrrrreeevvvvverrrrr for my appetizer, the steamed clams - 40 freaking minutes.  And there were only two other tables with patrons.  Not worth the wait.  Lots of shells, not so many clams.  Clams were overcooked and rubbery.  They were served in a large bowl FULL of broth.  Finding the clams was a chore.  The broth itself suffered from an overwhelming quantity of chopped onions - it was a vegetable broth with no hint whatsoever of clams or fish.  Asked for bread, since none had been offered.  Took forever for it to arrive.

Finally were our main courses.  By "finally" I mean another full 30 minutes later.  The fried chicken was served on a very large plate of fries.  The fries were good.  Unfortunately, the fries were the best thing we had.  The chicken had been fried too long at too low a temperature - the result was almost burned dark batter and lots of grease under the batter - yucch!  The nightly special was fettucini with chicken.  It was made with chunks of roasted chicken, fettucini, and ...................... the exact same broth that drowned my clam appetizer!!  Made me wonder just how many dishes they served that were all based on that one onion-dominated vegetable broth.  Nothing, NOTHING, had even a hint of garlic flavor.  Maybe Sysco forgot to leave them some dehydrated garlic powder.

It's really too bad.  In years past we had really good meals here.  This latest dinner absolutely sucked.  I'd rather be waterboarded than to be subjected to such a lousy dinner again.

I came across the Rex Club/Angelina's in Sept of 2010. I had to try it based on the old time sign. This club has been in operation since the 1920's, with a warm wood interior and vintage fixtures.
It is now also a very good steakhouse and Italian restaurant (not "eyetalian" as a previous "expert" stated). The chef's mother was Sicilian, and it shows. We liked it so much, we came back the next night, from 30+ minutes away. And in November, I went 2 hours out of my way to take a friend from SoCal there, and she also raved over the food. Plus, the family is just plain nice. We always get food to go from here, on our trips. A cure for the usual road food.
We also stayed in one of their cottages once, which are moderately priced, cozy, and...close to the food, out back. These folks try hard and succeed at good food, it's not overpriced, and it's in the beautiful warm little town of Burney. Close to fly fishing and hunting. Check it out.
(I almost hate to yelp about this and give away my secret, but the good folks here deserve the publicity!)
    You will *not* be disappointed!

We drove 1 1/2 hours from Cottonwood to your restaurant Saturday night and were NOT disappointed! It was so worth the drive out there to enjoy your wonderful  restaurant!  There were four in our party and we tried everything at the table and were just amazed at all the different tastes.  Even the side dishes were just popping with flavor!  Thank you for a wonderful dining experience! We will be back!
