This was a very mediocre sports bar.
You walk in and it looks like Dave 'n Busters bc they have televisions EVERYWHERE. Â They have an amazing beer list full of hundreds of beers, except the first three beers I wanted to try. Â Blue Moon, you are always there for me.
The service was slow, but the waitress was nice.
They bring you popcorn to eat before you order, so we snacked on that during our long wait for food.
I had a reuben and it was really, really greasy and yet somehow the meat was dry. Â It WAS huge, I took half the meat off it before I ate it and was full.
My bf had pasta and said it was just ok.
There wasn't anything outstandingly terrible about this place, it was just extremely meh. Â I might go back if it's conveniently located on the way back from something, but as its 40 min outside of Pittsburgh I'm not going to go out of my way to go back here.
How can they make food that is both dry and greasy???  Well if that was their only problem, maybe they would get another star.  I stopped eating at Ricks since I went one time with a friend and waited 45 minutes for a cold dry, yet greasy, tasteless burger.  It appeared to me that the waitress had completely forgot about it as after 40 minutes I asked "hey were is our food?" and 5 minutes later it appears with no explanation. The fries were just as inedible as the burger and ice cold too.  Let me just point out, it wasn't busy at all.  I usually only go there to shoot pool and have a few drinks.  Lets see, there were easily 4 people behind the bar, with about 7 customers sitting.  As you walk up to the bar, don't think they make it a priority to wait on you.  Maybe once they are done talking to each other, walking right past you and to the back, or texting they may make their way over to you.  It simply isn't worth it.  The cost is up there and the service is not.  Had to through in one of their pool tables wasn't working right.  Took my dollar and wouldn't release the balls.  My Fiance went up to tell them and was told by the bartender that the reason the balls weren't released was because it was a $1.50 to play, not $1.  HUH?  It says right on the table $1.00 a game??? What do we look like morons?  Anyway we go ahead against my wishes and put another 50 cents in.  Guess what nothing!  So back up front, the bartender did give us the $1.50 back telling us we better find another table because she wouldn't be giving our money back again if it didn't work.  WHAT?!  Who does this?  What happened to I am sorry, here is your money, and please choose another table as that one is out of order (though not marked before or  after our issue).  So we did, but boy was I pissed, like as if the money we got back was coming out of her pocket.  Um you already have our money it is in the broken pool table you jakoff.  In conclusion, I wish somewhere else in Murrysville would get a few pool tables and I would never go back to Ricks.  It is a shame, because it is a nice looking place with a lot of room and big TVs, but simply not worth the aggravation and rudeness.  BTW this place is ALWAYS hiring....Gee wonder why? : )~
Review Source:This place is gorgeous on the inside. Huge flat screen television through-out the place. A large arcade fun for both children and adults. If you come to watch television and play arcade games, you came to the right place. If you come to get food and/or a drink, then this is not the place for you.
I have been there several times and the service was poor. When there was a decent number of people at the bar or only three... I never received good service. I can't comment on the food because I never had a chance to order. The last time my boyfriend and I went there, we got our drinks and menus to order food. We had time to finish our beers and then waited more than 5 minutes for the bartender to come see if we were ready to order (note: there weren't more than five other people at the bar... It wasn't busy). We got our check and left.
I will never go back.
We went to Rick's Thanksgiving weekend to watch the Notre Dame vs USC game. Â It was my first time here. Â So the place is huge and has a large parking lot (when we pulled in I thought the restaurant was full, I'm not sure if the lot is used for something else). Â We were seated at a pretty tight booth in the back area. Â There are plenty of tv's to watch the game (maybe the game sound for the "main event" can be a little louder and I always appreciate tunes during the commercials). Â The beer list is huge and I believe they have a sampler as well. Â There was also a game area (skeet ball, mini hoops, etc) with prizes. Â That could work well with a group with kids.
On to the bad stuff...
The service was horrid. Â Extremely slow, got items wrong and then lastly gave us the check without asking if we wanted anything else. Â I'd understand if it was late, but it wasn't even halftime. Â The food was ok. Â Wings could use a little more sauce and I'm a firm believer to stick to the basics in a place like this. Â A cousin ordered the steamed shrimp and it was not great. Â Also, my wife's taco salad did not look great. Â In contrast my burger was good. Â My meal's only gripe was not understanding what skinny fries meant. Â I thought they would be shoestring fries.
If you go, I'd say to maybe grab a seat at the bar.
Stopped in on a Saturday night before a movie night out. Total of 8 in our party. Very slow service. Our server was not as attentive as we would have hoped. Meals took almost an hour after we had placed the order until the first 6 were brought to us and then another 15 mins until the other 2 meals finally showed up. We were told by the server at first that this was normal. We found others served and left during our wait.
When our server thought about it a bit longer we were comped the final 2 meals which we felt was fair.
Now the food... Stay away from the wings, nachos, onion rings and sausage sub which I tried. All average.  I was told that the calzone and chicken salad were good though.
All in all probably a good place for a beer and the game.
The service is erratic. Â They have a great theme and concept. Â Lots of TVs. Â Private taps at the table and entertainment for the family but the service and food quality sting the place a lot of the time. Â Â
I just lower my expectations when I go here and I enjoy it for what it is not what it could be under good management.
Came in to a crowd Wed around 6:45. Â After giving our name, hostess ignored us for 30 min. Then when questioned she tells me our buzzer doesnt work and we'll be next. This is after a least 3 tables bumped ahead of us. After another 10 minutes we're seated. Takes a few minutes to get the draft beer menu then we are finally ordered. Friends chicken parm sand comes out and our server tells us that my girlfriend and I's wings will be another 30 minutes. Friends sandwich consists of 3 small grilled chicken breasts on a roll with maranara and prov. He commented the chicken had that inedible center tendon still on it. Wings arrive 30 min later on the dot. Wings were ok, beer was good, i felt bad for the server. I've drank and done take out here before. I have no intentions of ever going back.
Review Source:Almost every time we have been there, the service has been extremely erratic.
In local newspapers, Rick's will be looking for staffing in almost every possible category. Not once in awhile, but pretty much all the time. Over several years.
Sooooo, we don't go there, ever.
UPDATE 7/14/2012
"Help Wanted- Bartenders, servers, cooks, dishwashers, host/hostess, food runner, family fun center attendant, full & part time, apply in person."
(The Market Place, volume 36, number 32)
Sorry, just the facts.
8PM Saturday night is not the time to go...yeah, yeah, I know I'm asking for it , but when the reason for not seating us within 45 minutes, is, " We don't have enough waitstaff to handle the amount of tables". That's pretty bad planning, no? There were several tables left un-bussed as we waited patiently.
Once seated, we were waited upon in a decent amount of time, however, again due to bad planning, Â " the kitchen is really backed up", we received salads, appetizers and meals all at once (after another 45 minute wait).
To be fair, the food was pretty good and the portions are very large. The beer selection is second to none as well.
We would maybe go back, but it would have to be in the middle of the week.
Went for a 10yr bday party - - - arcade area with tickets for the kids and full bar for the parents! we got this crazy portable beer tap thing that had some crazy amount of beer so you can refill your glasses from the tap at your table! Â pizza was good - not great - and wings were awesome!! Â salad was ok - iceburg... kids loved it and had a blast
Review Source:My favorite sports bar in the 'burgh. Â Probably the most extensive beer menu I've seen. Â There are TVs everywhere and one on every table as well. Â The wings are great. Â Just really solid bar food. Â The servers can sometimes be inattentive and distracted, but that's the only real complaint I've ever had. Â
A little odd to mention maybe, but their bathrooms are really nice. Â Big and clean, but they also have a TV by the vanity so you don't miss the game. Â Nice touch.
I have only been here once and I have to say I wasn't totally impressed...but it wasn't BAD. Â It's a normal "sports bar"...there are TVs on every wall, pool, yada yada yada. Â It wasn't as clean as I like my restaurants to be and the service wasn't great. Â It wasn't so bad that I'd never go back, I just don't think it's a place I'd suggest to visitors if I was a local...just sayin'...
Review Source:A word of caution is in order. My birthday happened to be on Super Bowl Sunday 2011, and after passing it a few times, I decided to have my girlfriend bring me here to celebrate my 37th year on Earth and watch the big game.
Well, we didn't do our homework well enough. As it turns out, when there is a big game, you have to reserve a table or booth or else try to find a spot at the bar. Since I didn't want to have to fight over seating with anyone, especially since I don't drink alcohol, we decided to split.
While we didn't get to try the food, I will say that this is one impressive complex. It is a modern suburban colossus of sports bars with televisions everywhere you turn your head. I would definitely like to come back here someday for another game, but if I do, I will make reservations.
Rick's is a typical sports bar. Unfortunately, the one time I went the power went out due to a storm. In the short time I was there, I had a few beers and the bartender was really funny and tried to liven the mood when things went dark - literally. I wasn't able to try the food, but if you're looking for a place to get together with friends, watch games, Rick's may be the place for you.
If not, ask them to turn off the lights and maybe you'll have a better time.
It looked fairly unassuming when I walked in and I was impressed by the many, many TV's (all with different sports on). Â I was almost knocked off my seat by the incredible selection of beer (and I definitely recommend the Bell's Amber!!) Â Wow, I thought, this place has potential.
So maybe the one star is a mistake (huh?!?!!) Â Maybe I pressed the wrong mouse button and hit the first star and not the last? Â Everyone else gave it from three to five stars, so maybe this guy got it totally wrong........Nope, I don't think so!! Â My order was simple - a club sandwich and potato skins. Â Not hard, not an order for geniuses. Â No lofty orders like a bacon cheeseburger with one slice of bacon, half a tomato, hold the lettuce, put the mustard on the side and can you please put in a condiment bar for the rest..... Nope, something simple. Â But this young lady could not seem to get it to me nor was it hot when it came. Â It took a good 15 minutes to get me both the skins and the sandwich. Â By then, the skins had rocked up on the top and formed a cheese water lake just under the hard crunchy surface. Â The sandwich was totally cold.
Forget that I just took a job with a company in neighboring Delmont. Â Forget that I'm bound to come in a number of times a year and spend literally hundreds of dollars. Â Forget all of that.....I guess these people did!! Â I recommend that you keep driving down good ol' Route 22. Â I'm sure you'll find something better down the road!! Â This thoroughly bummed out my night. Â Avoid this place!
Rick's is a sports bar in Export, PA, about 30 minutes SE of Pittsburgh. It used to be located further up 22 when we called it the Pizza Pub. I liked the old place better, but it's hard to compare since they changed to a completely different place. This is a very nice and moderately priced sports bar with plenty of big screen tvs at the bar and viewable at any seat in the bar. There is a lounge, banquet facilities, arcade game section, outside seating, pool tables, air hockey, and great chicken wings.
