What an all around excellence experience here. My wife and I had our post wedding brunch here. We found this place after the hotel we had our room block offered us cereal and bagels for $15 a person, and looked elsewhere.

We were in constant communication with the restaurants general manager Steve Prince, and they were able to accommodate our 80 guests in a private space from 10:00 until nearly 2:00. For $15 a person, we were offered 8 different, freshly prepared items (I.e. red velvet pancakes, florentine Benedict's, biscuits and gravy, eggs, etc) in addition to a very large buffet. The buffet had lots of pastries, smoked salmon, meats, pastas, chicken, salads, fruit, and a number of other items. Also included were all coffee / tea, as well as one Bloody Mary or mimosa per guest.

During the event, service was attentive and quick, and our guests all really enjoyed the food. Steve was present the whole time and regularly checking to make sure everything was as it should be.

Overall, between the great value, and high level of attention from Steve and his staff, I really cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are looking to host a private brunch for a special event.

Went to the Ridge Tavern for the first time ever last night. We are considering relocating to Basking Ridge and relied on some of our close friends for a dinner suggestion - I am glad we did.

The menu was varied to be interesting to even the most picky of eaters - they were extraordinarily kid friendly, and the service was personal and made a clear attempt of making our visit as positive as it could be with a 6yr old and 4yr old.

Due to being so impressed with the menu, we ordered some of everything - trying to see what their "sweet spot" may be.  Here's my thoughts in a nutshell based on what we had:

    1) Steamed Clams - surprisingly good and fresh for a "pub." Could not stop sopping the broth up with my bread - will definitely order again.

    2) Roman Chicken Sandwich - Big, fresh and juicy chicken - Delicious!  The only part keeping it from perfect was the bread was slightly overly crusty - making such a big sandwich difficult to fit in my mouth.

    3) Trio of Sliders Sampler - Fish Slider was tender, tasty, and exactly what I had hoped for - Cheeseburger Slider was fantastic (will get the cheeseburger sliders the next time I go) - Chicken Parm Slider was only OK.  The chicken was hot, juicy, and fresh, but the sauce (again, at a pub) was salty and definitely "foodservice" pack.

And saving the best for last....

    4) Buffalo Wings - I rate all my restaurants based on their ability to serve wings and blue cheese. In fact, if a place serves "foodservice" blue cheese, I WILL NOT order the wings again (it's that important to me).  I have to say - the wings at the Ridge Tavern were the best I have had in NJ.  They were big, meaty, tasty, not sloppy or soggy - and the BLUE CHEESE DRESSING IS HOME MADE!!!  I want to go back today for more wings!!!!

Keeping this visit from the 5 stars is as follows:
    1) bread was too hard on otherwise delicious Roman Chicken Sandwich
    2) chicken parm slider brought down the other things on the menu
    3) the AMAZING wings are only sold by in 8 - I STRONGLY suggest to the management that they consider offering their wings in multiples of 12.  They have a nice bar/bar crowd there - perhaps it could be a place to come with friends, watch the game, and order a bucket of 50 wings, etc.  I honestly believe that item is good enough to drive business.

I cannot wait to go back.  I cannot wait to try the seared yellowfin salad, or the flank steak, or the burger, or the beer sampler, or the.....  you get the point.

    GO!!! ENJOY!!!  YOU'RE WELCOME!

Terrible, low quality food. Didn't have cocktails but the draft list at the time was standard variety of american and imported lagers and ales. Atmosphere was mostly a middle-aged male dominant bar crowd which was too loud for my party of two's dinner table conversation.
