Oh Rio, I want to like you, I really do. I could walk to your restaurant you're so close. And yet, I drive to the Summerfield location because I always get better quality service, food, and atmosphere there.
First, the atmosphere in Oak Ridge is noisy, cluttered, tables crammed against walls, and teenagers overwhelming the place in droves. Also, teenagers seem to make up half the staff here (and that's part of the problem). I'm not saying teens can't be good employees because I know plenty of teens that are excellent employees. Just not here. I've been here 3 times, I've had problems 3 times. Our waitress the first time left at the end of her shift after taking our order, did not tell anyone, and never came back. We never received our food or drinks, and after 45 minutes had to get the manager, who discovered the problem. Thankfully, the problem was fixed. The second time, our drinks were never refilled. Yesterday, the food was good, but the order was wrong. We ordered basic tacos, all of us. How they got that wrong is beyond me. Also, the food is always better in Summerfield. Example, the Rio Dip. Â If you haven't had it, try it! It's so yummy! In Oak Ridge, it's cold. In Summerfield, it's hot. It makes a difference.
Anyway, I notice people in the Northwest area don't really like to drive to eat. Â They think Rios is Mexican, Elizabeth's is Italian, and the Meadows is the best ice cream around. Since I'm okay with driving to get good food, I'll trek to the better Rio's in Summerfield. Ten minutes is worth my time.
