  This place is great! It's a huge patio, right on the beach with a beautiful view. Drinks are so inexpensive and they have a large selection with some specials. We had previously stopped at a touristy pier for food and drinks but of course, everything was very overpriced and watered-down. Rest assured, your drink will not be watered down here! Be careful with the kamikazes. This bar has a laid-back atmosphere and best of all, you can bring your dog! I was just wishing we knew about this bar sooner, and that I brought Chloe with me.
  Service was excellent and our waitress was a lot of fun. I did not try the food, but we were very satisfied with our drinking experience and will eat here when we come back.

  Total hole in the wall.  Great view of the ocean and nice back yard.  Stiff drinks and a full bar.  You'll have no worries coming in a bathing suit and flip flops.  They usually have a band playing inside too.

  Awesome bar! The drinks are great, the atmosphere is surfy just like you would suspect in Galveston. Bartenders are attentive and nice.
  
  The have a large porch area out front and a huge back yard. Happy hour specials and night time specials that change each night.
  
  DOG FRIENDLY!!!! How cool is that!
  
  Nice, clean place. I love this bar.

  Rolled in here with two friends on a quiet Friday night in Galveston, TX. During the off season Galveston is a relative ghost town.... so, walking into Riptide Surf Bar I didnt expect a huge crowd.
  
  Riptide is very inviting and the decor does give off a laid back attitude much to the inference of "surf bar". The inside layout is set up for live music. There were flyers for bands playing the following evening. The back patio provides a relaxing atmosphere. I can envision the patio being really crowded during the summer evenings.
  
  There was about a half dozen people enjoying themselves. The bartender was attentive...but lets be honest here, there weren't many people there so he better have been. Pricing is competitive. I will make it a point to be here during the summer to see this place in full swing......
