Local Korean Cafe - a little old looking, but I figure for somewhere nicer, I'll go to K-town.  Ordered some typical cafe food:  Budejiggae (army soup), cheese corn, and bacon wrapped duk.  I fricking love bacon wrapped duk, esp. here bc the duk was really crispy on the outside, as if they threw it in a deep fryer.  The Budejiggae was pretty large - better to share with three or more - and was good but not quite the best I've had.  It had way too many pieces of sausage in it and only a few pieces of duk and spam.  Cheese corn was good, but not as sweet as I would have liked - it also had peas in it, which was different. Service was good - whoever thought of placing a doorbell at the tables in these Korean cafes was a genius.  Also got a carafe of Yogurt soju (they were out of lemon soju, can you believe that??), which had a bit of carbonation to it.  Good stuff.  Prices are a bit expensive in general, but I think they are probably normal for a Korean Cafe, though they should prob charge less based on the location and the way the place looks.  And it's true, there are quite a few old men who hang out at the bar.  But there are also a lot of younger people (early 20s?) who hang out there, too, so it can get pretty loud.

Road King is not somewhere you go for a fancy cosmopolitan, however, if you want some good korean soju at a super cheap price, i would recommend this place. The unnis are always nice, and the free popcorn is always plentiful flowing. Also, the food aint half bad :)

Look, I don't expect much from korean bars like this, especially from the ones in the OC. I've been here several times before, and it was always what I expected. A dim lit drinking hole with semi-cheap liquor and average korean food. But I came here last weekend, and literally got pissed off at the trash they tried to serve us and the insulting service we received.

All I wanted was some decent food to accompany the soju that we were drinking. We ordered the omellete rice and donkatsu, thinking that they would be safe choices. The omellete rice was not very good and the donkatsu that they brought out was rancid. It was fried in oil that must have been several months old, and I nearly threw up after the first bite. And to think that they reuse this same oil for all their other fried foods, really makes me question their health standards. Stop being a cheapskate and change the damn oil. It doesn't cost that much.

But after telling the waitress about the obvious issue, she offered no apology and didn't even ask if we wanted something else. She just walked away. Then, as we were stil hungry, we ordered another dish that was not fried. That dish never came out at all. But even worse, they still charged us for the dish that we never received. Again, no apology.

I'm a pretty patient person, and I really don't like writing bad reveiws. I have owned a small restaurant myself, so I understand how hard it is to run a food service business without any issues. But the service here was just lazy and the food quality was horrible. And honestly, I don't think they care, because young gangster wannabee korean kids will continue to come here and eat their sub-par food. So whatever. But if you need to come to a korean drinking place like this, take yourself over to Phinggye or Past Memories instead. At least the food is edible there.

This used to be Eisaku Restaurant, but now it's Road King, a Korean bar with private booths (not unlike Past Memories in Garden Grove, but with less war memorabilia). When I come here, I order soju and juipo, and then drink and clown around with my friends.

If you're looking to get hammered at a cheap bar, then you should come here for happy hour. BOGO soju ($7.50) and BOGO 50% off pitchers (Coors Light and Hite).

Lousy beer selection, dimly lit building, friendly staff, and TVs everywhere. According to the owner, you can park on the side (next to the liquor store) if all the parking spots are filled.

Three stars because this bar gets the job done.

4 stars for cheap happy hour and good food.
but the service. oh, the service.  where to start.
My friends and I come pretty often because this is our go to korean bar in orange county, and when I frequent a business as often as I do road king I expect good service. but the workers here are R.U.D.E.
    1. I have a pretty loud voice. There. I admitted it. That said, when I order drinks/food they should be able to hear me.  I understand if they can't but one of the girls always shoots me a dirty look and asks in an irritated voice, "WHAT???" She's just so damn rude about it.
    2. One time we ordered corn cheese.  Lady leaves and my friend changes her mind and decides she wants dduk bok kee instead so we call her back to ask if we could change it.  Keep in mind it hasn't even been a minute since we put in our order.  She says she can't change the order because she already put in the order. Hi, if they haven't started opening the can of corns (which i'm sure they haven't) then you can go back and change the order. She didn't even bother checking, she just flat out said no.
    3. During one of our visits, the bill at the end of the night came out to $150 approximately. We were drunk, but not THAT drunk.  we added up the items listed on the receipt and lo and behold, it should've been a little over $60.  When we asked them to add it up again, they did and said $150 was correct.  So we calculated the costs FOR them and only then did they finally admit they were wrong.  Only good thing about this was that they gave us a $20 discount.

I want to like this place, I really do.  but until they get rid of their beezy workers two stars is about as much as I can grant this establishment.

im a fan of this korean bar simply cause its ridiculously close to my house, its in cerritos, & im absolutely addicted the liquor store next door (where the owner/worker is always awesome) & my terribly wonderful scratcher addiction.!

service is great, food is good, alcohol prices are as expected, BUT theres an awesome happy hour deal from 10-12 and possibly all day saturday. the soju is buy one get one for $1, and theres also a deal for hite. its a small place and you have a choice of either booths, tables, bar, or couches (which theres very very few of). i prefer the booths cause it provides some type of separation from the rest of the customers. the middle section of couches/tables is  bit too open and close together for my taste. & its frequented by a younger korean/asian crowd and some adults.

A local go to dive bar around the Cerritos area. Ok service, for what you pay for. Pretty chill spot, if you're not up for a far drive.

Great food, great service, great prices!

This is my go-to place for a nice cold beer and some great yummy food and munchies.  Some of my all-time favorites here are the lahbboki and ddukbboki (probably the best I've ever tried), the sweet and spicy marinated fried chicken pieces, sautéed kimchi with tofu and pork belly, and the dak ddongjip (fried chicken gizzards)... Oh, and can't forget the super yummy soondae (Korean sausage) they have here too... To die for! Omgosh, I'm getting hungry and salivating just thinking about it... *drool*

I also love that they have Newcastle on tap too... Love them brown ales :) I think they also have coors light, hite (for all you guys that love Korean beers), and blue moon?? I'm not too sure about the blue moon but I feel like they do.  They also have other beers by the bottle too, not sure which kinds but I think they have a pretty decent selection.  There's also those yummy Asian fruit wines that people seem to love so much too, as well as soju and yogurt soju for all those people that don't like the taste of soju that much, like me.

Decor is nice and neat too. They've got these cool license plates as part of the decor too that look really nice, wish I had some :P Service has always been great: super friendly, fast, and accommodating.  They also have a free karaoke rooms too! Great for some drunk karaoking fun.

Overall, great place to go hang out with friends, drink, eat some great food, and maybe some drunk karaoking every now and then.  I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone! Great spot!

I wanna downplay this place as much as I can.

I feel the moment I write about what's good here, the Yelpers will all rush to this place and make it more packed than a Noraebang with an SNSD appearance.

Anyway, for a divey Korean Bar spot in the 562, look no further. Service is prompt, the clientele varies but at least if you have a Korean fetish you won't be disappointed. Smoking friendly and the drinks are affordable.

The best part of this place is their oil-y and salty tripe appetizer, add a few drips of sriracha and my god it makes escargot look like a piece of doo-doo in the culinary scheme of things.

4 stars because... this is the only way I can downplay how good this spot really is. For drinkers, Korean lovers and late night munchers.

This place is a very good place to chill with your friends.
It's not expensive either. Happy Hour is from 10PM-12AM.
I go here so much the ladies that work here know me.
    They're SUPER nice.
It's not a big place, but it's like the right size.
It can get pretty loud, but not too loud to the point where you can't hear each other.
    Try it outttt!

This place has changed hands quite a few times... Food isn't horrible here, beer's cold, and the women's bathroom has a baday (that I don't use but others might like)

However...stop blasting the loud old-school 40-50's Korean music. No one there is close to the age that enjoys that sort of stuff, and even if they did, it'd still be too loud.

The best thing about Road King is that it's usually dead. So if you like drinking in less crowded/rowdy places like me..this isn't a bad spot

Walked in around 10:45pm on a Tuesday night by myself.   The place was pretty much dead at the counter/bar area and maybe 3 or 4 people max sitting at the tables.   I've already had 4 Sapporo drafts a few hours before at a ramen place in the OC, but was still thirsting for more as I got back to Cerritos.  So I decided to try this place out of curiosity as I was driving down south street.  Anyways....

I bought 2 large bottles of Hite.  Each bottle was about $6.00 or so.  I didn't feel too buzzed after downing both of them in 20 minutes or less, so I asked the cute Bartenderess if there was some specific Soju that she could recommend.   She said I should try the Cham Cha-ram, which I clearly remember was specially priced at $9.99.     FYI I don't know crap about Soju, only Scotch and Cognac.  Since I felt that I was a very experienced Scotch drinker and usually am "invincible" to 3 or 4 shots of Macallan/Johhnie Walker/Glenlivet right after drinking 4 or 5 12 oz. bottles of either Heineken or Corona, I didn't expect the Cham Cha-ram to knock me out like how Rashad Evans knocked out Quentin "Rampage" Jackson awhile back.

Ok so after drinking half a bottle of the glam Cham, I ended up having my biggest "yakk" of the year so far!!  I had to get up and yakk in the Road King bathroom, but i couldn't even reach the bath room before I started yakking...so all that ramen and gyoza I had at Kohryu came partially pouring out on the Road King hallway....it was eye candy awesomeness!!!   Well, I eventually reached the bath room and started yakking some more, but I missed the friggin' toilet!   it was all over the bathroom floor and there were tons of the spicy miso covering the whole floor...It was then that I realized that really did eat  a lot of ramen.  I ended up trying to pick it up with lots of paper towels, but then the paper towels ran out i think and I ended up probably swimming in it rather than cleaning.  My long sleeve dress shirt and jeans were pretty much covered in it.   Yea, i was totally effed up and stuck in the bath room for quite awhile... i think I somehow briefly fell asleep while standing up next to the sink.  And i don;t see how people can use this bathroom after i've sabotaged it n 'all with my stench of vomit, ramen, and vietnamese coffee (since I ended up going to Cafe Lu right after Kohryu)...

The staff here was very very generous and humble to help me get my drunken' azz outta of this place.  They ended up making me sit outside in a white plastic chair....I remember it was soo cold that nite...probaby because I was sitting outside with only a skimpy black t-shirt on.   After all what's happened, it seemed like they were totally cool about it, and they definitely checked up on me from time to time.  I felt bad for what happened that nite, so that's why I gave a $80 tip to the dude who helped me out.  Im just sorry I couldn't give more.  Eventually, I found my way to my car and just slept in it  till 7am in the morning.   Luckily that night, I didn't get mugged or run into any cops.  Also, I've learned that you can be drunk and pass out in your car as long as you don't have the keys in the ignition.  Otherwise, it's a DUI.

Anyways, this is a nice place to chill or relax at.  I definitely had a memorable experience here...just as good as a $500 VIP lap dance at Spearmint Rhino.

Cham Cha-ram!   My new favorite korean words

Interesting place. Came in here with not-boyfriend the other night after searching for a new place on Yelp.

Fist of all, this is a Korean bar. So if you're looking for American food/beer, look elsewhere.

The menu was pretty extensive and super authentic - big plus in my book. Service was immediate and really friendly. They give you popcorn to munch on while you're sitting at the bar, yay!  If you sit in at of the private tables/rooms, there are buttons to push for service. Also very cool.

We weren't here very long, but I'm sure we'll come back. Not-boyfriend loves some good kimchi.

Road King is my new favorite late-night hangout.

The service is pretty lax, though, there is a button you may press for the hostess to come by and they are usually pretty quick with your order.

The food isn't too bad either, but I will always fall back on the fried chicken (tong-dak). It is pretty phenomenal with a beer, trust me.

The atmosphere is very chill. There are small private tables that you can be seated at which is good for conversation and what-not.

Overall, I really enjoy coming here. The laid back vibe of the place allows for one to eat some good chicken, and drink a cold beer in relative peace.

It was midnight on a Friday and my friends had just gotten back from the gym and starving, but also wanted to let loose.  They called me and asked if I wanted to grab a bite with them.  I was tired, but I never refuse an opportunity to chill with friends, especially when it involves food!

We hit up a different Korean bar at first, but that was packed with no parking and there was a familiar face whom they were trying to avoid.  So we drove 10 min down the street to this place, Road King.

It wasn't that packed.  We got a table and immediately ordered 2 pitchers of Hite, 3 bottles of Soju, 2 different plates of fried chicken, and my ultimate fave:  corncheese!  For the 4 of us, this was decent quantity.  Service was quick and friendly.  The waitress came every once in a while to check up on us and came pretty fast when we pushed the bell.

The chicken dishes were ok.  The meat was pretty tough and chewy and the sauce on top was alright.  I guess it makes ok drinking food.  I couldn't get enough of the corncheese.  It looked like mac n cheese at first, and tastes so sweet with that nice crispety texture of the kernel mixed with good, cheesy ooze.  I will be eating that forever.  I also enjoyed nibbling on the little cubes of pickled radish.

By 1:30am, we were all having a good time, content with the food and drinks.  We all took a potty break and after hugs all around, peaced out!

    Pros:
    -ample parking
    -corncheese
-heated toilets (the guys' told me it might have been my imagination, but I honestly believe their toilets are heated)
    -cutesy k-pop

    Cons:
    -quality of food
    -tables weren't roomy
-only one restroom stall for girls

COME HERE FOR THE KIM-CHI FRIED RICE!!! That sh*t is BOMB!!!! Kim-chi flavored rice with two fried eggs on top!! or the other rice selection. I've tried a few other selections, but nothing can fade my infatuation for the Kim-Chi Fried Rice!!

But other than that, they need more options for food. I wouldn't suggest this place if you're looking for a fulfilling meal for your dinner. It's more like a great place to kick back, drink, and snack on some food with good company. Some of the dishes they offer are not appealing to those who regularly do not eat Korean food. But if your adventurous, go right on ahead!! The prices are a bit expensive for the quantity of food you receive though (however the Kim-Chi Fried rice is definitely worth it!!!).

This is a cute little Korean restaurant. They have a bar with beer on tap and a selection of Soju. I believe they even have two rooms for karaoke!!
