Went back a few nights after my 1st review b/c it was so tasty....the service was SUPER slow had to grab a busier just to get a water refill..I had a dish with shrimp would have been tasty but it was raw!!!! Eeeeww the waitress took the shrimp back they just RECOOKED them tacky to say the least! The waitress said it's near the end of summer they(the kitchen staff) just do't care any more.. Awesome excuse for poor cooking, honest but ridiculous. Rather pricy for that B.S.
Review Source:This is an annual tradition for our summer vacation. Â The staff is always very friendly. Â The service is slow so if you are in a hurry, go a different night. Â The food is a bit pricey but usually pretty good. Â If you are looking for decent italian with good variety in the area, this is a good choice. Â Byob. Â Inside dining room is a bit tight but outside covered dining roomy and can easily accommodate large parties.
Review Source:Quick Update after missing out on Rockafella's last year we were able to get in on Monday Night for a quick Dinner. Â Still family owned after 17 years and the unbearable heat outside forced us to an inside table which was fine. Place still busy as ever even on Monday. Â Service was outstanding. Leslie was our main server but not a minute went by that another server was helping out cleaning plates or silverware etc.
Fried Shrimp with fra Diablo sauce still Killer! Â 5 large shrimp clean lightly battered great dipping sauce. Â Salads still the nice Vinergarette and bread same hot and crispy with both butter and olive oil dipping sauces to use.
Entrees:  Special Veal chop on the  bone grilled then covered with potatoes, peppers, onions in olive oil and garlic sauce with grilled vegetables on the side OMG should be a law against that dish.  :)   Special Chicken and shrimp with a delicate cream sauce with peas and sun dried tomatoes.  Giant plate of food that was incredible start to finish.
Leslie was even nice enough to make us a mini of their special deserts Canoli filling parfait with strawberries. If I didn't think I'd go into sugar shock I'd sampled but my dinner companion certainly enjoyed it.
STILL BYOB - and the best value on the NJ Shore in this area!!!!!
Rockafella's is a really nice place given it is in a beach community. The atmosphere is elegant which families with young kids would not even think of going there. Â However, they are very accommodating to the young ones. Â They have a children's menu plus, any dish on the menu they can make into a child size portion at half price.
I did not have an appetizer but did have the salmon over pasta which was very good. Â If you want to have veggies instead of pasta they will make that for you. Â My kids had pasta and meatballs. Â I would pass on the meatballs next time not very good.
The service was excellent, a bit expensive but would go back.
Appetizers, Salads & Main meals all excellent. A party of 4, we visited 2x's during our week long vacation they did not disappoint. Traditional Italian menu, Chicken & Veal dishes, Pasta & Meat Lasagna all good. Be sure to check out the specials like gazpacho, rice balls, spinach salad, tilapia & stuffed salmon. BYOB servers were more than happy to accommodate all our needs for keeping beer & white wine chilled. Relaxed atmosphere enabled us to enjoy our meals.
Review Source:Amazing best Italian food you can get. I have been to the best in Little Italy in Manhattan. The food is equally as good. Very surprising for a seasonal town like Seaside Heights. Try the Tripe amazing. If you do not know what it no need to look it up until you finish the whole plate.
Review Source:This is a nice little restaurant in Ortley Beach/Seaside Heights border. Â The inside is small and intimate and there is also an outdoor seating area as well. Â Dress is casual but neat. Â This is byob too.
Appetizers were good and not overflowing-just enough to wet your appetite (fried calamari and clams).  Next came a salad with standard greens, shaved carrots and a vinaigrette dressing.  It was fresh.
For dinner I had shrimp and clams over vermicelli. Â It was so tasty; the sauce had a good flavor, clams weren't "fishy" tasting and the shrimp was just right. Â My bf had steak with hot peppers-he ate everything on his plate.
The only down side is that the service was really slow.  Now at a place like this I don't expect to be rushed through my dinner, but I also don't want to be there for  over 2 hours for a 3 course meal.  Maybe it was just our server for the night.
This was the second time we ate here and we went with 4 other people. Me and my husband weren't that hungry so we split a appetizer I had soup and we split a meal which they told us that a plate share was a five dollar charge but came with salad. Â What a rip off I hate when restaurants do that. I mean we did go we alot of people and ordered soup and appetizer but didn't want to make a big deal about it with our friends there. Â So cream of mushroom soup was good and stuffed crabmeat portobello mushroom was good but the dinner again wasn't that great not much flavor and a skimpy amount of food. It was tilapia with two scallops for each of us pan fried with angel hair. Not much taste. And the cost of it with the plate share was $36.00. Outragous!!!! Remember to ask how much special is before ordering. Very disappointed about the charges.
