Old and cozy, but the food and drinks are over priced for what it is. $5.00 for a draft beer? Are you kidding me?  Might go back to check out their happy hour, but it's not my first choice.

I had been living in Long Branch for 3 years before I found this bar.  Tucked away in a little nook off the main "bar strip" Ron's hosts many of the locals and regulars who come in for a good night.  Ron's is stocked with reasonably priced drinks, happy hour specials and draft beers served out of mason jars.  The food menu is limited, but everything I have had on it is top-notch, and fills me up.  The dark wood decor and walls packed full of random display pieces make this bar feel immediately like you just walked in to a best friends house. Grab one of the board games to play with friends to keep a random night interesting.  Ron's has become our regular watering-hole.

Weird Joint. Its a little overdecorated but I think that is supposed to be part of its charm. I don't think there was much of a selection, and its CASH ONLY. Sitting outside on a nice summer night is really cool because it feels like you are hanging out in your friend's backyard. Its worth a visit but its not my first choice.

5 stars for the best bloody mary that you can get at the Jersey shore.

It almost looks like a house on the street, albeit a very festive one: you can hang on the front lawn on a bench or chill on some rocking chairs on the porch. Dark but cozy... the place feels ancient inside... like a time warp. They serve beers and even mixed drinks in mason jars here, takes some getting used to but it's unique (ya gotta try it). It's very chill... off the beaten path... and unlike any bar you've been to on the jersey shore.

I felt like I was drinking in Country Curtains.
Walked in to find an obese woman giving a man a lap dance and thinking it was hilarious, a crowd more adamant about singing and banging on the bar than being respectful, and a generally disinterested and seemingly jaded bartender.

Out of frustration I moved to the other end of the bar just to find that someone had taken a dump in the men's room, which was conveniently located right near that end of the bar. I was so disgusted I left without even finishing my beer...

Which brings me to...the fact that their beers are served in Ball jars. That's not a characteristic of a "dive" bar as some might think, that's just trying to be kitschy. Instead of enjoying your beer normally, you have the threaded rim of a jar prodding you in the lip.

    Words to describe Ron's Pub:

    Old
    Dingy
    Dive
    Awesome

We brought freakin Yahtzee with us the other night.  When was the last time you played Yahtzee???  Yeah, 1987....us too.   It was the perfect time and place to bring it back.

They serve cherry bombs....maraschino cherries soaked to hell in lord only knows what, served in a shot glass for a couple bucks.  I mean, you have to hold your nose to take one down, but a few of 'em make for a great night.

Bring a sharp object to carve your name into a chair, table or wall while your friend is sucked into choosing 80's tunes on the jukebox for an hour.

My parents used to go to this place when they were in high school, back when all you needed was a hand-written note from your mom that said you were of age to drink. To top it off the same owner and bartender are still there to this day, and they're fantastic hosts!
