Room 38 Restaurant & Lounge

Room 38 is interesting! I had dinner with some friends; we split the Asian sesame grilled salad, surf n turf, Thai chili spare ribs, lobster mac n cheese, and sweet potato fries.

The salad was a little too simple for me; I would have liked more variety in the vegetables and more seasoning on the chicken, but the dressing was really good. The surf n turf was delicious; I would definitely get it again. The spare ribs were really good and not too spicy. The lobster mac n cheese was fantastic and probably my favorite thing we tried. The sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious.

The restaurant is nice and the staff is attentive. Later that evening, they turned the restaurant into a bar/club with a DJ and dancing. It was fun! I would definitely go again.

My boyfriend and I first started with two appetizers: The sweet butter pretzel bites with pepperjack dipping sauce and the salmon skewers with flash fried spinach. Both were delicious! The pretzels were absolutely fantastic - and so the flash fried spinach had a sweet edge that was perfect.

For dinner, I had the surf & turf sandwich and my boyfriend tried the chicken asiago - both were huge and inexpensive. Mine had filet slices on it topped with lobster and crab. It was devine.

For dessert (how we had room is still a mystery) we tried the fondue. It came with three different kinds of chocolates: white chocolate with a raspberry sauce, milk chocolate and a caramel and chocolate sauce. We ate these chocolates with strawberries and pound cake. All tasted great.

In town for meetings and thought, how about a fun place in Columbia on a Monday night? Found it! Room 38 was a welcome to fun kinda place! It was girls' night and the martinis were a little lite, but tasty. Next time we'll stick with the A to Z Pinot Noir which we enjoyed with our food. Oh and the food...you can't go wrong here. Three of us shared a variety of apps and small plates..yum plus!! You gotta go to Room 38, cause it's a winner!
