Shiloh Bar & Grill

I've only ever done takeout, but given how many times I've done so, it's obvious that the food is amazing. There isn't a single thing that's disappointed me when we've ordered from here. From the burgers to the ribs, you can't go wrong.

The western burger has a fun twist with the slice of ham on top of the burger patty, and it's even better on a pretzel bun. The Hawaiian chicken is a great sweet and spicy combo. The Cuban and the pulled pork dinner are both tasty as well.

However, what really makes me go back are the ribs. They are the best dry rub ribs I've ever had! The meat is amazingly tender and not very fatty, making for a lot of bang for your buck. The half portion is more than enough for one sitting, but if you get the full, you'll have plenty for leftovers, and they reheat very well.

The menu is varied, and the prices are very reasonable. Everyone can find something here. It's one of my favorite places in Columbia.

Went there with coworkers when traveling for work. Sat on the patio on a beautiful mid-May day where the temperature was around 90. Nicely shaded and a slight breeze (plus the absence of stinky bastards...aka smokers) made for a very pleasant alfresco experience.

We all ordered the special - a half-slab of ribs.  Smoked on the premises and nicely cooked with a different sort of seasoning...rosemary!  I don't know that I've ever had smoked ribs quite like these but they were pretty good.  I asked for bbq sauce on the side and I'm glad that I did because the sauce would have drowned out the unique flavor.  It is worth noting that the ribs were so meaty that I couln't make it through all of them...and I only ordered a half-slab.

I'll keep this short and sweet - even if your food is good (it was), your prices are low (they were), and your drinks are delicious (it was), poor customer service will leave a bad taste in a guest's mouth every single time. I came in for lunch and was one of four people in the front of house. The other three were two bartenders and who I assumed to be a bar manager, as he was discussing a liquor order with the male bartender. I wasn't treated rudely, per se, but was pretty much ignored the entire time I was there. The male bartender that waited on me seemed to be putting in the absolute bare minimum when it came to customer service. The worst part is that clearly this is normal and acceptable at Shiloh's, since a manager was present and seated maybe 5 bar stools away from me. I left feeling pretty bummed. I don't typically dine alone but am new to Columbia and since my son was in school and my boyfriend was at work, I figured I'd grab a bite solo. I couldn't have felt more unimportant while there. I won't be back.
