Based on the food and decor alone, I would give this place 3 stars. However, what bumped it up an extra star in my book was the great service we had. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after a day at Six Flags. We were exhausted and starving and just looking for some filling comfort food which is exactly what this place offers. Do not let the fact it looks like a little hole in the wall deter you.

The decor is an eclectic mix of British themed memorabilia, from pictures of the past British royals to quotes by famous Brits. I would probably call it more of a restaurant than a pub. They do have a car and a few TVs but most of the place is taken up by tables and booths. The tables and chairs are a little bit worn but I think it adds to the "pub" feel. It gives the entire place a more relaxing atmosphere and I can see as a comfortable place I would go just to get a few beers and catch up with my friends.

Now for the food. I ordered the Shepard's Pie and my boyfriend got their famous fish and chips. This was my first time having Shepard's Pie and I have only had it at two other places since then so my opinion may be a little biased, but I thought it was amazing. The mashed potatoes were very creamy and served as the perfect shell for the meat underneath which was cooked nice and juicy with lots of seasoning and flavor. There was a little cup of peas (most likely canned peas) on the side to go with the meal but I left those untouched and would have preferred fresh peas. However, with the portion sizes they give you and the prices, I don't really mind being served canned peas on the side. I finished maybe 2/3 of the pie before I was totally full.

I tried some of my boyfriend's fish and chips and I didn't really see what they hype was about. Maybe it is because I like my food with a bit more flavor too it but the fish seemed to lack seasoning and just reminded me of frozen fish pieces that I could get at the grocery store and heat up.

For dessert we got the sticky toffee cake. I have never had anything like it before. It was a moist square coffee-ish flavored cake sitting in the middle of a sea of sticky yellow pudding. I am not sure how to describe the pudding but it was very thick and reminded me more of maple syrup in its consistency than pudding but it worked perfectly with the cake in the middle. Not too sweet and just enough to leave you satisfied (not not overstuffed).

So now to the service. My boyfriend wanted a beer with his meal and they had so many on tap. Our waiter was so patient about explaining all the different kinds of beer and helped choose one based on what my boyfriend wanted. I really appreciated the time that he took to make sure that we got the right drinks. Our waiter had a great laidback personality that fit right in with the atmosphere of the pub. When my boyfriend knocked over his water glass and shattered it, our waiter was so gracious about it and put our own fretting to ease. Overall the service here is friendly and comfortable and will definitely amp up your dining experience.

Good food, good prices, and great service. Would come back again if I am ever in the area.

Food is decent, however if the say fish & chips, they should at least use steak fries instead of American french fries.  Then it would seem and feel more like the traditional "Fish & Chips" that you get in England.
