I can barely express how incredible this place is.
It's a tiny hole in the wall with cheap tables and cheap chairs and even cheaper decorations -- don't expect anything anything other than a dive.
But the food! Oh, the glorious food! And the cheaper than believable prices!
Get authentic tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, for $1, $2. and $3 plus change. Fresh chips and salsa. Great rice and beans. Soft and fresh tortillas and shells. Everything is fresh and delicious.
Now the best part, besides the food, are the prices. I love a bargain; I'm a frugal bastard. I've taken three people along with me for dinner and picked up the tab for the four of us -- a measly $12!!!!!!
You can easily eat there for less than $4 per person, and you will be satisfied. The key here is to order from the a la carte menu, not the combination platters. Each person can order a couple of tacos, burritos, or enchiladas, and then get an order of rice and beans for the table to share -- it's plenty, believe me.
Every single time I am in Homestead, I stop at Rosita's. I which I still live a stone's throw away.
The food was really good, but the atmosphere was kind of blah. Also I ordered queso for my chips expecting a liquid type sauce every other Mexican restaurant has and instead got a stringy cheese that tasted ok but wasn't very easy to eat. I ordered chicken fajitas and what I got was tasty but it did not come with the usual extras such as sour cream and guacamole. The mix of Spanish and English in the menu seemed pretty random and actually made it harder to figure out. In an area with so many Mexican places I probably wouldn't go here again.
