In the past this place was really neat, however, it has gone to hell in a handbag. Looking for for the trash and riff raff of Amarillo? At Rumors you'll find it. You can enjoy hours of listening to the English language being butchered and watch in amazement as a drug deal goes down. If you are an attractive female with any class, STAY AWAY FROM HERE. You will be mistaken for a prostitute. Save your $2 and go somewhere else like R n R where people can actually complete a sentence. The black waitress enformed me she was a Jehovah's Witness as she served my drink. When I told her I didn't think JWs hang out in bars I was no longer served. This place is a total joke. I can't believe the owner has let this happen but it seems she enjoys to keep this kind of company. What a shame.

I went here based on the good reviews I've read on yelp. When I first got there it was a little slow (around 8) but it quickly picked up. By 10 it was pretty packed and it was standing room only. The bartender (stoney) was fast and attentive. There was a small incident about to start but the staff quickly wisked the trouble maker out the door. It happened so quickly most of the bar didnt even notice there was a disturbance. Great bar and I will be going back.

$2 drinks Sunday through Wednesday, all day long!!! Happy hour until 7pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with drinks going up to $3 for singles or $5 for doubles. No Patron, but they do have Tres Generations for $2 during happy hour and $5 afterwards. No buckets, but pitchers of domestic for $5.75, Shiner or Killians for $6.75.

I am from out of town, but everytime I come to Amarillo I go to Rumors.  Who wants to argue with $2 drinks?  The owner is super cool and friendly, as are most of the bartenders.  Shuffleboard is a classic bar game that I have yet to find in California.  Only suggestion I have is... Put that mermaid back on the noose!  Rumors: Only bar in town that gives a fuck!

Still good drinks- you can never go wrong with a double-tall vodka soda.  Not much has changed, gets crowded late, but I always like to drop by.

I guess I'm giving this Amarillo standard a lower score than everyone else because I hate super crowded, yell-to-be-heard, no-room-to-move bars. Rumors always feels like a fight is 2 minutes from breaking out to me. They have cheap drinks and yes, it's definitely the place to meet up with friends, so for a lot of people this is a major selling point. I just prefer someplace I feel like I can relax a little bit and just enjoy the company of friends. I never really feel that way at Rumors. Definitely an eclectic crowd though. You get gutter hippies and frat boys sharing tables pretty much here and only here.

Hopefully you'll take this score with a grain of salt (and a lime) and read the review to decide if this place has what you're looking for. Meanwhile, you'll find me kicking back pitchers at R&R!

$2 Shiner Bock on tap. Enough said.

Great atmosphere. Very eclectic crowd. LOVE this bar.

This place is pretty rad. But everyone knows it. So if you're trying to avoid someone, don't hang out here on the weekends. It gets REALLY busy and you're bound to run into someone you don't want to see. For this reason, it's close, but not quite my favorite bar in town (R&R is).

Not to worry, though. They have a nice dive atmosphere, and lots of different groups hang out. Also, some of the best drink specials in town (I can get a $2 shot of Maker's Mark here four nights a week). Even their regular prices beat the hell out of most places, and that's saying something in a town where a $5 beer is practically unheard of (unlike NorCal). Also, the closeness to my house makes it a top choice most nights.

They have pool, shuffleboard and a sweet jukebox. Although, it's one of those computerized ones which randomizes the order once it develops a long playlist. Meaning that there was a time when I picked my songs at 10 p.m., then the place got super-busy and the bar closed before I heard more than one of my songs. Use the jukebox at your own risk!

I freaking love this bar! Hands down my favorite in Amarillo. Great weekday drink specials and $2 Crown Friday nights and $2 Skyy on Saturday. Four pool tables plus shuffle board, a solid and eclectic juke-box and a diverse crowd (nerdy indie kids, bouncers from other bars, Graham's-style hoochies, hip-hoppers and gutter punx.)
A note - I've got friends who complain when new-school radio hip-hop takes over the jukebox for hours at a time, so if this bugs you, you'll probably want to stay away on Friday and Saturday nights.
