This a neighborhood bar, just like some of our bars back home, reasonable priced drinks, great food specials, live bands on weekends, no cover. It is not Newporty at all, just a fun bar where it doesn't matter how much money you have , you can even get 2 hot dogs with fries for $4.00,now no one pin the port can give you that deal.
Another nice thing about Rusty's is everyone is friendly even if they don't know your name, like Cheers......so CHEER ON OVER FOR A FUN NIGHT!
Rusty's is a quick walk from my house. They're always good for a burger and a beer, when it's too hot to cook at home, or when I'm just being lazy. I've eaten there several times and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. The people are down to earth and the portions and prices are reasonable.
Review Source:Stopped here tonight for dinner and a beer. First thing I noticed was the lack of boat shoes and men with hair styles among the bar patrons. It was a refreshing change from the usual crowd I have encountered during my stay in Newport.
A little bit of a "dive" bar but I mean that in the best way. A comfortable place just to sit and chat while eating bar food. The bartender Debbie was a sweetie and the patrons were a nice mix of characters and bar rats.
The liquor pours are big and the beer was ice cold. We ordered a hamburger, fried fish and a philly cheese steak. All three came with a heaping pile of fries. The food was solid. Not horrible and not spectacular....just typical.
They have a stripper pole with a nifty sign that says "pole dancers welcome" fortunately no one was "workin the pole" since I had my 14 year old son with me. Yeah it's that kind of place, you can eat, have a beer and your child sitting comfortably with you and nobody gives you a second look. Perfect:)
