Unfortunately, this place doesn't live up to it's name or cute local coffee house image. My drink was just okay. Their smallest size is 16 oz, which was problematic for me as my drink is a 12 oz double shot latte. Pros: the guy working was nice! They also have free wifi and ample space, making it a good place to study or hang out for a while.
Review Source:We were sorely disappointed when we stopped here for coffee and sweets for brunch.
The man behind the counter was working by himself. He seemed to have a coworker in the back, but she was on her laptop and playing with a puppy.
There was one person in line who ordered two drinks, and these drinks took seemingly forever to complete.
Several times he apologized for the delay to the customer and us.
While we were waiting we tried to make sense of the confusing menu on the board. There was one price next to the items, but there were several sizes available.
While waiting for our turn to order we picked out a couple of pastries from the cold case.
There were no prices on the items; the coffee cake and fruit bar pastries were wrapped in cellophane and cold so we expected them to cost about $2-3 each.
At the coffee bar the guy was moving a mile a minute, but not getting anything done. We ordered a mocha latte and a cappuccino to-go with the two pastry items warmed up. He slowly prepared the mocha from start to finish before placing the coffee cake in the microwave.
Once that was finished he started my cappuccino. The foam on the cappuccino was made wrong and there was far too much of it. After spooning scoop after scoop of foam onto my drink, he started to microwave my fruit bar.
It took more than 10 minutes for us to get two espresso drinks made and two things microwaved for 20 seconds each.
Then the bill came. It cost us $16.00 for the two drinks and the two pastries. By the costs shown on the menu, and the unknown costs for the pastries, we guess that each pastry was $5.
We took our to-go items to the car and headed out. While eating the pastries, which were not worth even $3 apiece, we found a hair in each one. Insult to injury.
Will not go back. Ever.
Do not recommend.
Being the coffee lover that I am how could I pass by a coffee house with a name like "The Sacred Bean".
The guy behind the counter was friendly and chatty while not being outright affable.
The atmosphere is nice and colorful with an overall pleasant feeling. Â There is a stage at the front of the space for music or other performances.
My drink was smooth and tasty and I would return so consider that an endorsement of the sacred bean.
