    Wednesday nights = ladies nights!
Like any bar on the bell the ambiance is never really there, but hey can't go wrong with free drinks!

When you come here don't expect to sit and chat with the bartenders, they don't really converse with the patrons.
The groups of people that come here greatly vary - you'll have the old men who come by themselves, the two people who are on a date, the random lady who dances on the dance floor, etc.

If you come here with friends its a good place to just chill and relax (but if you sit towards the back the music is pretty darn loud)

The lowest Queens has to offer right here. No place you ever wanna be, and the times I've attended have never been on my own accord. Music's loud, guys pissing on the bathroom floor for no reason. The patrons are all meathead obnoxious idiots and the bouncers don't give a damn about their entrance policy. 23 years of age for the men. The women? Haha, let's just say they turn a blind eye. One glance at the dancefloor says it all. Go someplace else.

Came here a few times for a beer with friends and it was just an okay experience. We got there around 10pm and there were tables set up all around so we grabbed one and sat down. As time passed, the bar turned into a dance floor? So we were asked to get up as they moved all the tables away. This kinda made me upset because there was absolutely no dancing going on....so we had to stand around like total losers. lol

Can't really speak for the drinks, a corona taste like a corona anywhere you go, and the same goes for Budlight lol
The atmosphere however is what the place is all about. In no way is it a "beach club" rather a typical bar....with creepy guys, who come to the bar alone and and stare at all the girls.
It's ok I guess. They ID at the door after 9 I think, and it gets pretty packed on weekends. Definitely a spot where guys are trying to get some.

Dueling Pianos rocks!    They need to advertise so people actually show up!
But...When you have been "changing the menu" for weeks now, as an excuse for not having 3/4 of the items on it, it is time to print a paper with what you do have instead.  AND.. when someone wants vegetables with their wrap and you can offer nothing but asparagus, it is time to allow them to order a side salad instead.   NOT good business.   My friend had to leave to get food when she had been buying drinks all night.  Bad move.

This place is nice and big a pleasant change from the usual tiny bars on bell blvd.  The only thing I want to complain about, which might seem weird, is the fact that there are way too many bartenders working.  Its an overload when you go there. I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the bartender trying to get me a drink, sometime you need a minute to figure out what you want.

It was disgusting. Just left. Put $7 in the jukebox and somehow someone in the place skipped over ever single song I played and $7 was gone in less than 10 seconds. I will never come here ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was Monday night and I was craving wings.  Instead of going to my usual wings spot on Bell - Brian Dempsey's - I decided to try out Safari Beach Club...partly because there was a good MNF game on, and this place's TVs blow the doors off of Brian Dempsey's (tube televisions?  really?)

The wings lack the touch of crispiness that I like that Dempsey's have, so I wouldn't recommend Safari Beach Club as a destination for wings.  However, my wife and I discovered that their fish tacos are pretty damn tasty (and a little bit spicy).

The service was good and we didn't go on a day when they start charging a cover, so I can't comment on all of that.  But I can confirm that the menu does have an absurd amount of spelling errors.  If my count is correct, 16 different spelling errors in all.

But how in the world did they spell andouille and vinaigrette right, but then drop the ball on Ceasar, horseraddish, and preztel?!  I'll leave the other 13 misspellings as a surprise for you...kind of like Easter Eggs if you choose to visit.  Happy hunting!

For Thanksgiving Eve, a bunch of my friends gathered here to celebrate. Why the hostess (of our group) decided to choose this place, I will never get. I originally didn't plan to go but later, decided to stop by for a few to see my friends whom I haven't seen since the hurricane.

It was around 10pm when all of a sudden, they brought out two douchebag bouncers and started charging $5 cover. (I say all of a sudden because they didn't charge my friends just an hour ago.) As soon as I heard that there was a cover, I texted my friends to tell them I was unable to attend.

They eventually ended up paying my cover (sorry!), and I spent half an hour to mingle with my friends. Apparently, drink prices are very reasonable.

There's an interesting mix of crowd: douchebag fratty bros, guidettes, ghetto Asians...and a few cuties here and there.

    I wouldn't come back here...ever.

The bar has two good features: plenty of tv's to watch the games and nice bartenders.  Other than that, its missing a few things.  First of all, the food is not so great.  Pre-cooked / frozen items pretty much rule the menu.  We waited a long time for sandwiches.  An order of wings and fries, was split with the fries coming first and the wings coming about 10 minutes later.  For those of you who care, the menu is filled with misspellings.  In my opnion this is a glaring example of a restaurant not paying attention to the details.  The beer selection was also limited.  For food & drinks, you can do much better on Bell Blvd.

The decor is fun, prices are very fair, the food is ok, but it's more a bar than anything else so food is not that big of a deal to me. Music has a good variety  without getting too entrenched into one style of music. Very laid back place.

I love to come here to watch the games since they have the sports packages, most importantly, their servers and bartenders are awesome!

I have never gone there and had a bad time, even when I'm not drinking. This is one of my favorite places to kill time or just have a quick drink. I wish it many years of good business.

I have only come here on a weeknight to watch a sports game, eat some wings and drink a beer.  Good selection of beers on tap and they are ice cold.  I especially love the chicken wings and on Tuesdays they are 25 cents all night.   I am a huge wing fan and am quite picky.  I like meaty wings with lots and lots of sauce.  I hate overcooked wings.  These wings are perfect.  I love the bbq and jack daniels the best.  SOOO SOOO delicious.  And so cheap!

update:  wings went down in quality and was told that the wing special no longer exists.  The wings are tiny and not worth $10 for a dozen AT ALL.  Sadly, we no longer go here and go to Congas instead which has $.25 cents wings on Sunday/Monday with much bigger wings.

i see a Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets nd even Rangers banner outside...but no Knicks?!??? anyways, the place before this(Johnny Famous) had a cowboy western theme, now we have the beach club Zack Morris was working at right on Bell Blvd...this is the biggest bar on bell, why can't anyone actually make this into a dope spot? instead it's just a big waste of space with all this gimmicky beach crap around, nobody cares, unless your visiting from California

The bar is really nice looking; it's big, lots of seats, lots of bartenders. There are tables, a dart board, stage for live bands. However, because of the size and it's capacity, it can get a bit overwhelming. I've been there a few times, and when it's crowded, it's way too crowded. We went there in hopes to watch a playoff game (Rangers), and we couldn't make it through one period.  There was a benefit going on (and the bar was obviously not closed to the public, and i'm thinking it should've been), and a very loud band, just warming up.  If you're not sitting at the bar, it's kind of hard to see the TVs (even though there are about 30 of them, they're not very big, and people standing in the way of the TVs). The only one I could see was a movie-screen sized TV, and it was behind the stage, obstructed by the band!

We were hungry; I know they served food, but there was no wait service.

Take home message/lesson learned" If you're going to a bar to watch a game, go to a sports bar.

What an interesting place.  I'm not quite sure why Bayside needs a "beach club," but that is neither here nor there.  Safari reminds me of the kind of bar/club one would visit between the ages of 18-20 before being old enough to get into the bars that you really want to visit.  It has a bit of a cheesy vibe, but if you can get past that you will be fine.  They play all top 40 music and drinks are strong..which helps when you're trying to forget that you're even in this place!

0 stars. Gross, what happened to Johnny Famous where the people and service actually existed? Yes it was smaller but atleast the bartenders gave a f*%k about each customers orders. Although the bar in this place is nice only because its huge everything else sucks sucks sucks. Especially the bartenders and especially that blonde one the other reviewers are talking about. I asked for a mixed drink, Hairy/Fuzzy Navel, what do I get? A shot of just freaking orange juice. Hello??? Why the hell would I want to spend $8 on a shot of juice AT A BAR ON A SATURDAY NIGHT when I could get an alcoholic mixed drink for the same price? Girl, you don't deserve that tip my friend gave you.

Went here on a Thursday night for happy hour.  They have pretty good happy hour specials and plenty of spots at the bar since it's not just a straight bar but curves around for more seating.

Wings were 25 or 30 cents and they weren't bad, but weren't great- just average.  Their meatloaf sliders were really good! Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn on a slider with some sort of dipping sauce, yummy! Definitely a bit messy though.  Too bad they don't have wet naps after all those sticky finger foods.

Got there around 6PM and there was only one bartender so the service was a bit slow.  By the time 7PM rolled around 3-4 other bartenders showed up and service went up a notch or two.

They also have two pool tables and a dart board in the back.

Basically the blonde bartender ruins this bar. Seriously who treats their customers the way this b*tch does? I should've listened to the reviews below about this b*tch. Jesus Christ, no wonder people would actually take the time to write about this sh*tty blonde bartender.

A rude Blonde bartender ruined my night.
She basically cursed me and my friends out because we asked her how much a shot of captain morgan was.
I'm not sorry for being a poor student.

Then she told her "body guard" that WE HAD TO GO.  This fat man had the balls to push 3 sexy ladies OUT the door. Seriously? lol.

I swear, if I see this b*tch again, I would knock her out.

My lil bro warned me that this place doesn't look big but it really is... We walked in and I was almost dazed for a bit. The place was spacious and really did gave off a "beach club" vibe. It wasn't that crowded on a Thursday night even know everyone was watching Jeremy Lin and the Knicks.

They had plenty of tvs. We ordered 2 beers on tap each and our bartender was really nice and always tried to refill our glasses, as I noticed each bartender was very dedicated in getting her customer to drink some more. Inevitably, I got munchy so we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. It was delicious and came generous for only 5 dollaa! I munched like a fat kid in a school cafeteria.

Our whole bill was only about $25 when we left and we were both so surprised that it was so cheap!

However, the second time I came here, there was a 2-person band that was playing. The girl pals and I were pretty close and we nearly lost all hearing by the time they were done... I ordered the dip again and it shrunk by half! I was so excited to take my friends here. :(

Nice and clean looking place. Might have had a nice time if not for the bouncer yelling obscenities across the bar to his friends. He was also shining flashlight in peoples faces while screaming and laughing like he was at a bachelor party.  What stood out to me was that mgrs/owners while at bar didnt bother to  remind staff members to be professional.  I would go back with friends, but never would bring date or girlfriend.  My date and I left early after I asked guys to watch language. They all said ok. The guys at bar moved away and the bouncer started yelling/cursing to other guys further down the bar. The couple near us left earlier after mentioning this to one of bartenders.   Great looking place and crowd is well behaved.  Management should focus on staff training and customer service.

Probably the best Giants bar ever. I never went to this place when it was Johnny Famous. I actually stopped coming here when Crazy Moose closed down.

But I was looking for a place to watch the Giants game and grab some beers. We got there an hour before the game and the bar was filled already. There was only two tables left so we quickly grabbed on and settled in.

About 30 minutes before the game the place was packed.

The wings are cheap and good. The beers are cold. The best part was that they had Rolling Rock in a can. Rolling rock ranks at the top of my list of beers along with Hoegarden and Magic Hat.

The game was crazy. There was a give away of gifts during halftime. The service was great, I never had an empty pint glass or beer can, and there were only two witnesses on duty. Kudos ladies.

Definitely going back for all Giants games in the future.

So I came here on NYE and had a great time! I was incorrect with the half of the place not being open, it was already open and it's only a small area where they were actually holding a buffet dinner. There is no actual dance floor space in here but people pretty much dance anywhere they can find room.On NYE they offered a $40 package which included the buffet and an open bar from 10-2. We didn't take advantage of this deal but it definitely was one of the best deals I saw on Bell Blvd.

There were tons of people here of all ages again and everyone seemed to have a great time. We played pool, drank, hung out, danced, and rung in the New Year with everyone. This was my first time actually watching the ball drop at a bar and it was fun to have the energy of everyone there during the countdown! Of course people ended up getting rowdy and there was a fight but the staff took care of it right away and kicked them out while everyone was chanting vulgar words at them, it was actually quite funny!

The bar area was of course packed with people getting drinks but the bartenders were very quick at getting everyone what they needed. I had a great time here and will definitely consider it again for next NYE.

The rebirth of Johnny Famous has come and it's name is Safari Beach Club.  Plenty of TV's, drink Specials and the pool tables in the back make this bar enjoyable for any occasion.

$3 domestic drafts and $4 dollar Jameson are the happy hour specials and the bartenders are friendly enough to keep you coming back.

If your in the area and had previously wrote off Johnny Famous, try the Safari Beach Club and enjoy a shot of Jameson/Beer!
