  A good alternative if in the area whether you partake in the grill atmosphere or sit in the dining area and simply order from the menu.

  I grew up in Portsmouth and it's been over ten years since I've been in the area.  I must admit, I am a sushi snob, having had good sushi from all over the world (Japan, Kuwait, NYC/NJ, Austin, DC/NOVA).  I was very impressed on how good the sushi was here.  It was as good as any big city, and better than may places I have tried.  Where were you 20 years ago?  The hibachi was also very good.  If you are ever in Wheelersburg, don't skip Sakura.

  We were pleasantly surprised with the excellent food here. We are from Calif. where there are many fine Japanese restaurants and this place would have no problem competing with them.   I had the Salmon Teriyaki Dinner Box for $16.  Also, the Crunch Roll and Chicken Fried Rice were superb.  The service and cleanliness were excellent as well.
