GREAT service with a smile! Amazing food, and wonderful beer served in a relaxed cool atmosphere. I wish we would have found this place sooner. For me, this was one of my best experiences in McCall. The owners and staff are eager to please and welcome questions about their business. I cant believe they push so much beer out of this little place. The IPA was pretty good. Not super hoppy. The Black Happy ABA was my fave. Nice smoky, well balanced brew.

I had the double smoked bacon brat for lunch. Very simple fair. the brat was pretty darn delicious. I wish they sold them frozen. The menu seems to be small, and I'm guessing changes regularly. THIS is what pub grub should be. Not some arrogant, gastro-snob hipster hangout. Good hearty fair that tastes great and fills your gut, in an environment that makes you feel relaxed, welcome and at home. Salmon River Brewery... you guys NAILED it. Your cheerful interactive helpful staff are what's going to keep you in business. Keep up the good work. I will be back some day.

Had the one of the worst dining experiences in McCall this weekend. We decided to go to Salmon River Brewery on Friday night. It was busy, but we walked right in and got a table. We sat there for about 15 minutes while the server kept going to the table next to us about 5 times. Finally went to the front counter and asked if we needed to order at the bar or if there were servers since we had never been there before. Server comes to our table and takes our drink order. He tells us that food will be 45 minutes. We order our food and then tell him we will start with appetizers. He says "That will be 45 minutes". So we order a beer each, there are 4 of us total. He walks off and we wait. About 15 minutes later another group of people come in and sit down at the table next to us. The same server goes to the table and takes their drink order. He goes to the bar, and come right back with 6 waters and 4 beers. Meanwhile we still have not received our beers we ordered, nor any water. We wait about 10 more minutes with nothing so we get up to leave. As we are heading out the door our same server stops me and says "You leaving?" I say yes to just cancel our orders. He looks me in the face and says "Well, did you need to settle up." I tell him "Settle up for what? You never brought us anything. That table next to us came in 15 minutes after we ordered and they have their drinks. We are still waiting for even that so no, I did not "settle up". Without a pause he says "Okay, whatever " and walks off. Worst customer service I have experienced in a pub/restaurant in a very long time. Never will I set foot in there again. Ended up just going to Chapala's where the food was good, fast, and the service was really great. Sorry Salmon River Brewery, you lost 4 customers

Comfortable place with very good beer, great service, & good food. I had the fish & chips & they were good. My wife had a brat & didn't seem impressed. Their D.I.P.A. and stout were very good.

Relative to service, the guy handling our table seemed to have shown up every other minute through most of our meal, but when we were trying to order dessert and another beer, couldn't be found. I didn't get recognition from anyone at the bar actually.  I'm not sure what happened, but at some point, albeit close to closing (even though their schedule implies they'll be there as long as there are customers (there were others still there when we left), we just couldn't get any service. Not a tremendous problem as I would have spoken up if I really needed service, but it was odd.

It was a Thursday night 7pm. We sat at our table for 12 minutes before we were handed menus and asked what we wanted to drink. There were empty tables around us. People checking out, waitress at the cash register, drinking beer, chatting it up with the regulars. Finally takes our order. Food took another 25 minutes. The elk burger should have been cooked thoroughly by then, but no, bright red inside. Puke. That is not even legal. Potato chips that come w were greasy. Had to ask for the accompanying pickle. $3 side salad a joke! Beer was totally average. Service sucked. I have worked in restaurants for years, this place is slow, dirty and gross.

Been here 4 times and always have problems. I go to a brewery to eat, the wife drinks the beer. It's a bummer, 'cause I really like the spot, but tired of excuses. Placed my order and the waiter comes back a few minutes later. "Uh, I forgot we're out of burgers." It's freaking Labor Day Weekend, Sunday night... they still have one more day left of the holiday and you are out of burgers? So, I order a chicken sandwich as did the wife. Over an hour later the waiter comes and asks if we are still waiting for food. STONER, yes, we're still waiting. Then he gives a BS story that they were really backed up and our ticket was at the end. Dude, we've worked in the industry. The place wasn't packed, you forgot to turn the ticket in. Hour and a half waiting for two chicken sandwiches. Any server with half a brain would have comped it.

Nice people who own and work the place, but the beer is only okay and served too warm.  Food took a long time to get, even though it was only a sausage.  The "side" salad that replaced the chips that come with the brat was minimal and way overpriced at an extra $3.  On top of that, they only had one dressing--a mayonnaise based dressing. If you dont like/can't eat mayo, you had to have a naked salad.

Out of fish.  Out of Elk.  The only thing left was chicken sandwich, burger or brat.  Food was ok, if you like potato chips.  They came with everything.  Service was super slow.  Waitress had such an attitude she didn't even acknowledge us when she brought the check.  Beer was good though.

This place just blew me away!  What a perfect location for a small town brewery, right in the woods with great decor to match.  The beers were amazing as well.  Full bodied with great finish.  The Buzz Buzz was my favorite by far but my big bro loved the Chocolate Stout.  We tried all of the available beers on our two visits.  The Udaho Gold was easy to drink and very refreshing, as was their Strawberry beer.

The food was pretty top notch as well.  They have great Chicken Fingers, Fried Pickles, and Fish Tacos but the two that take the cake are the Elk Burger and the Two Brat Plate.  Both were very flavorful and cooked just right!

We loved this place and like I said, went here two times on our two week visit to McCall.  The service was great and these people are very polite and accomodating.  A great find in a small town!

About my favorite place in the whole world to grab a cold brew! The place has exceptionally friendly staff, a killer atmosphere, and downright tasty beer. The place has a year round cozy feel but nothing tops the summers. Outside they grill it up while you hang out in soft sand or on one of the long picnic tables and enjoy live music.

This last summer I had the opportunity to meet the owner - an ambitious guy named Matt. With just a bit of cash and a huge passion for great brew, he ventured out to fulfill the dream of having his own brew and a great place to drink it.

Matt and his crew go to great length to use the finest ingredients. Some of their beers even include their own organic hops grown a few miles to the south.

Looking forward to getting back to a tasty porter!

Great brewery/restaurant in McCall!  Looks...eclectic from the exterior but dont drive by!  Be sure to stop for some great beer and the best service we found in the area!  They have a nice patio with lots of tabels out back and indoor seating as well.  Dog friendly in the front - (maybe in the back too - we didn't dine/beverage back there.)

I am visiting from California and am always looking for a good brew and a chill place to enjoy it. My Dad told me about this place and it was the first stop when I came into town. My wife and I arrived around 3:30 and they were not open yet. We were hanging out waiting for them to open when Matt (one of the owners i later found out) came and greeted us and invited us to come in and have a beer until the kitchen opened. I thought this was very gracious and it made a great first impression! We spent about 2 hours there enjoying a few of the happy hour menu items which were all delicious and FRESH as well as a couple of beers. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and look forward to our next visit! Thank you Matt for the hospitality!

stopped here because: 1.  We needed a good beer and 2. We tried several other restaurants in downtown that would not let us keep our dog with us outside (not a dog friendly city and we were on foot).  However, this place had great beer and welcomed our dog with open paws.  Tried a few varieties of brew and all were great.  They have a happy hour from 4-6pm with amazing beer prices and good food.  Had the chicken tenders and brat, both excellent.  We plan to return here often.

If you want REAL beer in McCall, come to this place.  I tried many of their selections and all were what their names implied...I mean, they had great flavors.  The food, also very good.  I had the elk burger with gorgonzola and caramelized onions.  Deeelish.  My only complaint was the service.  The guy was nice, but slow in more than one way.  I don't tend to notice mildly slow or bad service, but this was very obvious.  I was accompanied by 4 women who have worked in food service for many years, so they were down-right pissed off.  Luckily, the beers and food kept us all level-headed.  Go for beers and, if you have the time and patience, eat too!

This place was good. Really deserves a 3.5 but I'll give it a 4 since they are really trying to create something unique. The IPA keg blew and they were out after that. I had the coffee porter and I enjoyed it but it had a fairly weak body.  Food was pretty good. One waitress for 15 tables so service was very slow (plus she had a very long walk to get to the outdoor tables).  We sat outside and it was a very enjoyable evening -- only problem was all these knats flying around.

I really wanted to like this place. Bratwurst was awesome but the bread on everything at the table just plain sucked, very dry...maybe old. The bun on the hamburger dwarfed the patty, how could you possibly taste the burger? Beer was really good. Next time I go back I'll just have a few beers and skip the food. It is a great place to drink a frosty.

We had driven by this place a few times before finally deciding to try it out. Curb appeal lacking, the inside was a nice atmosphere.

I got pretty excited about the menu and had the salmon fish tacos. It was OK, fish was a bit dry. Good thing I had an amazing beer to wash it down! The buzz buzz porter was nothing short of delicious - another? Yes pulease!!! After a few you just dont really care about the fish anymore. Oh, I'll be back!

Yes!!! This place is the perfect locale. Slightly off main drag. Great cabin feel on outside. Nice wood & asian twist inside. How awesome is that. Fresh sushi & stir fry available. Novel! Sat on outside deck. Extremely cool rod iron railing (artsy) & log type bar w/stools. On ground level picnic tables, trees.. You can get very comfortable here. Beer is excellent. Tried seasonal summer brew, delic. Food hit or miss. Smoke Bacon Brat heavily recommended. Grilled sirloin sandwich was not too good. Meat thin, tough. Panini too thick. Ate it open faced. My other half had an Elk Burger. Meh. Service just ok  Personally I would stick to the beer & brats.
