Sal's Sicilian Pizza & Restaurant

Pretty good pizza. Service is ok.

I've been eating at Sal's (and Daniella and Rosa's, named after Sal's daughters, before they moved to the new location) since the 1970's.  The food has always been consistent and filling.  This restaurant is good for when you are throwing a pizza party, get the Sicilian, it is huge) The rest of the food is the basic paisano fare, but good for the price.  I give them 3 stars because they serve good basic food.  But, I guess my palate has grown up because I prefer to spend my money at Tony and Milena's when I want Italian food in Gloucester.  T&M's is a notch above Sal's in all categories, including ambience, so is worth the additional cost.  Sal's, though, is a better family restaurant and D&R's will always be remembered fondly (maybe it was the "buy 4 pitchers of beer and get the 5th one free" deals for poor graduate students.

We just moved to Hayes from York County so the first thing we did was case out the pizza places around here.The first night we has food from here we had the pasta. No complaints on thee pasta I loved the layer of cheese you get on top of the pasta. A few days later we had their pizza and we are hooked. The crust its perfect, not too soft or greasy but certainly not too hard. The ingredients were great. They get minutes one star for having crappy chicken wings.
